Youth Hunting Program

Colorado Sportsmen Wildlife Fund, in partnership with the Colorado Division of Wildlife holds several youth hunts throughout the year.

The Colorado Division of Wildlife provides all ammunition, shotguns, orange vests and hats as well as instructors for the hunt. All participants just need to bring a sack lunch for the day and enough warm dry cloths for cool mornings and warm afternoons. Parents are, of course, welcomed and encouraged to come and observe. Hunters wishing to bring their own shotguns can do so. However, the DOW will only supply 20 gauge and 12 gauge ammunition for the event.

A Colorado small game license will be required for this hunt. Hunters under the age of 16 can purchase a youth license for $1 at any DOW office or license agent.

There is no charge to particpate in a youth hunting program.
