The Lending Library Project is a service-learning program that provides opportunities for youth and adults interested in literacy and community service. Delegations of youth and adults are organized annually to network with community groups in southern rural areas of the United States to construct lending libraries and promote literacy in the community. The Lending Library project takes place two weeks in the month of July.
Lending Libraries have been established in Lake Providence, Louisiana, Mayersville, Mississippi and Masses, Alabama. If you would like to find out how to make the lending library a part of your teaching curriculum, donate books, volunteer your time or just receive some literature on Lending Library Project Activities please fill out the form on the Contact Page.
