A surrealist painting of men climbing a wall of sectioned boxes and peering over the edge at the center box. In the center box is a canoe with a person looking over the canoes edge into the water. I large roman warrior is on the right side. I golden Dodecahedron is hanging from a string. The dodecahedron is one of the 5 Platonic solids with 12 pentagonal surfaces.



Tucker Bôbst (1923-2008)
Tucker Bôbst was a self-taught, internationally acclaimed artist with representation in Paris, London, Munich, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C.
Born (1923) in Boston, MA, Tucker was a graduate of Groton's Lawrence Academy. Following his U.S. Coast Guard tenure, he settled in New York City where his talent received immediate recognition. He was known as a surrealist painter, who painted abstract cityscapes, figures and portraits. Besides his numerous museum and gallery awards in the states he has won the Espace Lyomnaiss d’Arte (France), International Biennial (England), & Artes Populare (Mexico).


His prominent "People in Paintings" series of internationally renowned political, theatrical and literary personages include: John F. Kennedy, Vivian Leigh, Nureyev, Tennessee Williams, Albee, Hitchcock, Siobhan McKenna, Sir John Gielgud, et al. The White House acquisitions from this series include Barbara Bush (the Bush Library, Texas) and President William Clinton.

From September, 2006 to January, 2008 Tucker owned a small gallery in his hometown of Chestertown, MD featuring much of his work and was run by Tucker and his life partner of 60 years, Richard Maloy.
Tucker passed away January 23 2008.
