On April 30, 2003, we have added a new pagebuilder block called "Address Search." This new block is designed to replace the "EZ-FindDealer/Locator" Tool located on your Construction Tools menu. The new Address Search tool can do all that the old Dealer/Locator can plus much more. For a short while both the old and the new tools will be available. Some time after July 1, 2003, the old Dealer/Locator will be removed.
 Purpose and Features
The purpose of the Address Search is to provide a way to find what addresses in a web sites database are within or near a specified geographic area. For example, if your website is associated with a number of dealers, resellers, or affiliates, using the Address Search makes it possible to find which ones are close to a given zip code or city. The underlying database of addresses can either be from the EZ-Directory or EZ-Affiliate tools. The old Dealer/Locator had its own database. This new version is significantly more powerful and easier to use.
The new Address Search block is located in the "Advanced" section of the list of EZ-PageBuilder blocks. Check the technical support help site for more detailed instructions on this block. Click here for more information.
Demo of how the Address Search Works
To help you understand how the Address Search works, we have prepared a sample demonstration. We have loaded all active EZ-NetTools websites (as of May 2003) into the EZ-Directory database for the EZ-NetTools™ website. We have set up a page using the new Address Search feature. Try typing in a zip code and a radius to see other websites that use EZ-NetTools™ in your area. You should find a wide variety of websites. You may also find some new ideas of how to develop your. At a minimum you will be able to see how the Address Search Feature could work. Click here to try the demonstration.
Old Dealer/Locator feature will be discontinued
For a number of reasons we have chosen to develop a completely new tool rather than update the old Dealer/Locator. We will be discontinuing the old Dealer/Locator after July 1, 2003. You can either move your data to the EZ-Directory or EZ-Affiliate databases. If you would like us to convert the files for you, contact Technical Support.
