Why are the weeks of camp priced differently?
Every week of camp at Shepherd's
Fold Ranch is essentially the same camp experience. Each week has all the same
staff and programming (schedule, free time activities, activity classes,
etc.)We price the weeks of camp
differently based on scheduling demand, not on any difference in quality of
staff or programming. Early weeks and late weeks are historically most
attended, so we are trying to encourage a full week of camp for every camper
regardless of which week of camp is selected.
Arrival and Pick Up Times for Camp
Arrival
Between and 5:00 on Sundays.
Due to programming, we ask that you arrive no earlier so we may be able to greet you and your campers in high fashion!

Our traditional closing ceremonies begin at 10:00 and will conclude by 11:30. We strongly encourage parents to come and stay for all the closing ceremonies.

Financial Aid and Discounts
Partial scholarships, called Camperships, are available through the SFR Campership Fund. Information on applying for a campership may be acquired by calling SFR or by emailing christina@sfrcamps.com.
It is a new policy of SFR to award all camperships by May 1st , therefore applications must be filled out and sent to the Ranch by this date.
It is best to secure a spot at camp by application and deposit and then apply for a Campership.
Note: if you are looking for a very worthy tax deductible cash donation, please consider giving to the SFR Campership Fund. All donations go directly toward assisting needy families in attending camp.
We also offer a few discounts to help you plan your registration.
The Andrew Discount gives you $20 off your camp fee for each friend you bring that has never been to Shepherd's Fold camps ($10 for Day Camp and Mini-week). You will need to be sure your new friend identifies you as the recipient of this discount.
We offer a Family Discount of $25 each for 3 or more children from the same household ($10 for Day Camp and Mini-week).
There is also a Group Discount of $20 each for groups of 10 or more coming to the same session of camp ($10 each for Day Camp and Mini-week). To receive this discount, all group members must register at the same time through a qualified group leader. The group must be registered in full by April 1st. Those interested in being a group leader, please contact our office.
We now offer an Early-Bird Discount of $10 if your camp is paid in full by March 15th. ($5 for Day Camp)
Medical Emergencies
SFR goes to great lengths to secure a full time registered nurse for each week of camp. However, some weeks we are limited to a qualified health assistant that has specific certifications or is in the final months of nursing school. A Minor Emergency Clinic is located in Skiatook just 10 minutes away. All SFR Staff are certified in CPR. If your child is hurt at camp and in need of an emergency room, we will contact you and ask you for instructions on which hospital you would like us to go.The nearest Emergency Room is in Tulsa 30 minutes away. All medical emergencies are supervised by the Camp Nurse/Medical Assistant and the CampDirector.
Communication with campers
All campers get a kick out of receiving mail. Simply address the letter to your camper
Camper name
PO Box 39
Avant, OK 74001
Your camper's mail is delivered during dinner in our dining hall with great fanfare Monday through Friday. Telephone usage is limited to emergencies only. Please call our CampDirector if you need to discuss something relating to your camper. Campers are not allowed to use the phone during there session at camp and we ask that you not send a cell phone with them.
Wednesday night Open Meetings
Dates for 2009
June 17th and July 15th.
You're invited to our special "Open Meeting". This is a fun time of songs, anointed worship and crazy skits. This is NOT meant to be just a parent night. All guests are welcome and it's a great opportunity for campers to come back to camp for an evening.
Parent Warrning! This can easily be a time of heightened homesickness for kids as they see their parents. If you feel this would be an issue for your child, please wait to come on a week when you child is not at camp. Guest orientation is at 7:00.
This year Wednesday in July 15th we host our special Reunion Night Celebration. Bring the family and enjoy food, games and fireworks.
Shuttle information for Day Camp
Day Campers from Tulsa may use our shuttle service each day. The shuttle will pick up campers each morning at 8:00am and return at 5:00pm.
No Return Shuttle for Friday!
Pick up/Drop off site is the parking lot of LaFortuneLegionBaseballPark at the corner of 61st and Yale. You must pre-register for the shuttle so we can plan accordingly. We are very sorry, but due to limitations with transportation and staff, we will not be able to run multiple shuttles this summer so please be sure to sign up early. Shuttle cost is $80.00 per week per child. This fee is due upon registration for camp.
Cancellation policy
After May 1st, all fees paid are non refundable but may be transferred to another week of camp or to another camper. If a camper chooses to leave early from camp, is not able to complete the session or is sent home for what the leadership deems as a serious violation, there will be no tuition refund.
Camp store
If a camper has spending money for the week, they are required to put their money into a camp store account. We recommend between $35-$50. Purchases at the store are limited each visit. The store stocks bottled water, soft drinks, iced coffee or fruit drinks, and candy. You will also find an assortment of the newest SFR merchandise i.e. camp clothes, T-shirts, caps, souvenirs, postcards, stamps and sweatshirts.
Unused money may be picked up before departure. Any money not picked on the last day of your session will automatically go into the SFR Campership Fund.
Medical information and camper medication
SFR does not provide medical insurance for campers. A health form is required each year for each camper. Health forms may be printed from our website to fill out and mail in or they may be mailed to you on-line or by snail mail.To avoid long waits in line, be sure to send all your registration information no later than two weeks prior to arriving at camp. Please be sure to sign the form and include a copy of your prescription card and insurance information. Health History and Activity Release Forms can be found on the Registration Page of our website.
We take great care when dispensing your child's medicine and include records of each visit to the nurse. Please help us by carefully preparing it in the following way:
Make sure your campers full name is on the medication.
Place all medicine in its original container in a zip lock style plastic bag.
Enclose complete written instructions.
Give it personally to the SFR nurse or health assistant when you check in.
Lost and left
Our goal is not to have anything lost or left at camp! Help us by labeling everything your child brings to camp and make sure you have all of their belongings before you leave. We will look for these names on anything that is left and let you know if you need to arrange a pick up. If anything is still here after August 15 we will give it to a local charity. SFR cannot be responsible for lost or broken items.
Changing Sessions
If you need to change your campers' session(s), you may call the registrar at 918-263-3622.We will have the availability of each session and we will do what we can to accommodate your change within reason.
Cabin Requests
If you would like to request for your camper to be with specific counselors or with other campers, we will do what we can to accommodate your request.
