With the mat cutter or the X-ACTO knife cut a rectangle -15 1/2" x 10" out of the brick mat- board.Cut the art work leaving a 1/2" margin all around it. Apply the double stick tape all around the back of the artwork and place it on the center of the board.

Out of the corrugated card-board cut out a 12 1/4'' x 6 3/4" rectangle. Cut out from this a 10 1/4" x 4 3/4" rectangle in the center creating a 1" frame.
Take this frame and hot glue it to the mat-board making sure that it's centered. You might want to try it first and mark the right place with a little pencil dot at each corner.
Now let's get to the shadow box itself: Out of the corrugated card-board, cut 2 shapes like this 15 1/2" long and another two of this same shape, 10" long.
Score fold each of these corrugated card-board shapes, like shown in the picture, and hot glue them along the 4 sides of the mat-board.
Cut out a 15 1/2" long x 10" hight x 1 5/8" wide frame out of the brick card-board and hot glue it to the folded corrugated frame.
Attach the cotton string to the back for hanging purposes and there you have it: a nice shadow box encasing a beautiful artwork. Enjoy it!
