Barb's mother was our first over-night visitor. We took her for a drive to see the fall colors. Here's Barb, mom and Lucy near Telluride.
Above Telluride the Idarado mine sits in this bowl. You can see the old mining road zig-zagging up the mountain. That's Bridal Veil falls on the right - head waters of the San Miguel River.

More colors around Telluride. We also drove to Ouray. It's a quaint old mining town full of victorian homes and surounded by many 14,000' peaks. |

Driving home from Ouray, we pass the Uncompahgre River. The color of the water is "golden" from the tailings of all the mines in the area.

We awoke Sunday morning to our first snow at Sublette Ranch.

We drove home via Hwy 92 along the north rim of the Black Canyon. This is the Gunnison River... ...as seen from this scenic overlook. |

A final view of the Black Canyon of the Gunnison...
...as we headed north to Crawford for lunch at Joe Cocker's Mad Dog Cafe, then back to Denver.
