The Rexburg Sunbird program was begun in 1976 and was probably one of the first in this country. There are approximately 2,000 retired senior citizens (summer visitors) or Sunbirds as they are known who fill the off-campus university apartments surrounding BYU-Idaho. It offers many activities including concerts and

|
entertainment. Rexburg is nestled in the Upper Snake River Valley of eastern Idaho at 4,865 feet in elevation. It is located in the southeast corner of Idaho, close to Yellowstone National Park, Grand Teton National Park, Sun Valley and many more great places to visit.
