Rainbow Lake Located 1 mile southwest of Rexburg, Rainbow Lake is a private RV campground and private lake. Features clean showers, restrooms, and a driving range, as well as a gift shop.

Henry's Lake State Park Henry's Lake is a high mountain lake so the water is quite cold, and waterskiing is banned in all but one area. However, it is known the country over for size and numbers of fish that can be caught. The park contains several picnic areas and fire areas. It is located about 70 miles north of Rexburg off of Highway 20.

Ririe Reservoir The Ririe Dam was built for flood control and irrigation. It is emptied each fall for farming needs, but it offers some of the best boating in the summer. Fish can be caught from the boat dock at the bottom of the canyon. Picnic facilities are available in the junipers at the top of Ririe Reservoir with waterskiing and fishing within view for all to enjoy.

Island Park Reservoir This lake, formed from the Henry's Fork of the Snake River, is home of the infamous Island Park Rodeo on July 4th. It's a beautiful lake surrounded by lodgepole pines, with fantastic fishing, located 60 miles north of Rexburg.

Palisades Lakes/Reservoir Located about 60 miles southeast of Rexburg, the Palisades Upper and Lower Lakes are very scenic and are accessible by hiking trails for horse or foot traffic only. Some moose frequent the area. The Lower Palisades Lake is much smaller than the Upper Palisades, which is about two miles further up the trail. The Upper Palisades Lake is in a beautiful valley surrounded by forest and is a favorite spot for camping. The Palisades Reservoir is ideal for waterskiing in the summer and features many picnic spots.

Henry's Lake and Henry's Fork 60 miles northeast of Rexburg, high in a mountain bowl at an elevation of 6470 feet lies Henry's Lake. The lake is within Henry's Lake State Park and surrounded by lush meadow and the towering Sawtooth Mountains. The shallow lake is know for big trout catches. Henry's Fork of the Snake River has its beginning here. This stream is world renowned as one of the best flyfishing areas in the world. Big Springs just south of the lake is where Henry's Fork rises to the surface. Located in this area is Johnny Sacks cabin. This famous cabin is in the National Register of Historic Places. There is a visitors center and it is open for tours during the summer.

Ashton Reservoir Ashton Reservoir, located just outside Ashton, along Henry's Fork, provides excellent trout fishing, waterskiing, and canoeing.

Teton River Basin On the western side of the Grand Teton Mountains lies the Teton Valley and River. Over two thirds of this mountain valley is pasture, open range and fertile fields bordering by forested hills. Over 100 species of migrating birds visit this area, and trout fishing and hunting opportunities are excellent.

The South Fork of the Snake River The South Fork of the mighty Snake River begins high up in the Grand Tetons of Wyoming. As the river flows south and across the Idaho border, it is retrained by Palisades Dam creating the 18 mile picturesque Palisades Reservoir. Several campgrounds and boat launch areas are located along Highway 26. The Palisades Reservoir and the South Fork of the Snake River provide the angler some of the most outstanding native cutthroat fishing in the west.
Exiting from Palisades Dam the Snake River flows through lush and scenic cottonwood bottomlands abounding with wildlife including great blue herons, Canada geese and resting bald eagles. The South Fork of the Snake River is considered to be Idaho's number one unique wildlife ecosystem. For backcountry adventure, hike or travel by horse into the Lower and Upper Palisades Lakes. Both lakes are stocked with trout and provide great fishing.
For whitewater rafting, the Snake River provides wild and scenic high powered excitement. Licensed outfitters offer a variety of guided trips along the South Fork.
