Come ride with us. 600 cow calf pairs will arrive at base camp a few days before we arrive. Our job is to drive the cattle up the mountain to summer pastures, check fences, pack salt and other ranch tasks.
While working we will explore the wilderness of the San Juan National Forest, help you improve your horsemanship and cattle handling skills, and learn first hand about ranching in a National Forest. Enjoy wildlife and breath-taking scenery and views.
This ride is unique because you are encouraged to bring your own horse. We recommend that you and your horse are comfortable riding several miles a day. Your horse should be shod. Rims recommended. No sliders.

BASE CAMP (8 miles East of Bayfield, CO)
Park you truck and trailer at base camp. Base camp features a kitchen tent, picnic tables, campfire ring, cowboy shower with hot water and restroom. Flowing water and a corral is available for the horses. You are welcome to stay in your trailer or a tent. Cots available upon request. We will ride out each day.
Breakfast will be served at camp each morning. Lunch will be packed, taken with us, and enjoyed on the mountain. Dinner will be cooked on the campfire and served homestyle. Please notify staff of any dietary restrictions at least two weeks in advance of event.

Riders are welcome to arrive on Wednesday to get settled in. Please notify us of your arrival time.
Thursday
9:00 am Breakfast and orientation. Horsemanship and instruction in reading and working cattle.
11:00 pm Head out to herd

If you would like to let your horses rest at camp and see some of the fabulous sites in the area, just let us know.

Evenings: relax at base camp, eat dinner, enjoy the campfire
Try your hand at roping, whip cracking and knot-tying if you wish.

RATES
$885 per person.
$200 to rent a ranch horse.
Deposit: $300 deposit is due to save your spot.
Discounts: Save $100 if paid in full 30 days prior to ride.
Final payment by credit card/PayPal due before the ride.
All payments by check must be made ten days prior to ride.
Payments may be made by credit card on the web site.
Each participant must sign a waiver prior to the ride.
