2006-2007 School Year

NASA Astronaut Colonel Jeffrey Williams Visits AICA!

In May, AICA was given a special privilege with a visit from Jeffrey Williams (Colonel, USA, Ret). Colonel Williams spent the morning of May 18, 2007 at Aquidneck Island Christian Academy (AICA) giving a presentation about his recent travel aboard the International Space Station. Colonel Williams was the Flight Engineer and Science Officer for Expedition 13, during which he successfully completed two space walks logging 12 hours wearing Russian and U.S. space suits.

Previous to his launch on a Soviet spacecraft from Kakastan, Colonel Williams requested objects from the school that he might take with him into orbit! AICA sent Colonel Williams a painted school banner and a CD with pictures of all of our students. After six months in space, Colonel Williams visited the students of AICA, presenting amazing details of his space exploration via a spectacular slide show of God's beautiful and miraculous universe! During the presentation, Colonel Williams returned objects to AICA that accompanied him in space!

Jeff is a Christian man who came into contact with AICA during 1995 while working at the Newport Naval War College, and has since been a strong supporter of the school. Thank you, Jeff, and may God continue to richly bless you in the Lord Jesus Christ!

2006-07 Awards Night

Congratulations to our young recipients from the 2006-07 AICA Award's Night. We take great joy in our students who have been recognized this year for their tremendous hard work and perseverance in their academics, conduct and character. May all praise and glory be given to God alone for the accomplishments of our students.

AICA’s First Basketball Team!

The Lord has been pleased to raise up the first sports team in AICA history! Coaches Shaun Scott and David Ferreira lead the basketball team each week in instruction, training and technique. The players competed in 6 games this past school year, for which they praise the Lord. The team is working hard, and is anticipating a full schedule for the coming year. GO EAGLES!
