Palmer United Protestant Church
Click the "Potluck" button for more information and a map to the church.

The Alaska Vegan Society monthly potluck dinners
are fun and educational, and there is always a wide
variety of delicious 100% plant-based food!

Before......and After!

LOCATION:  United Protestant (Presbyterian) Church, Palmer

Please bring your own non-disposable plate, bowl, utensils and cup or water bottle.

This will reduce the number of dishes that need to be washed after the potluck.
We will still provide dishes and utensils for those who forgot theirs.

Remember to bring a recipe for your dish
and put your name on it.
We know it requires extra effort to bring your recipe, but it shows respect and thoughtfulness for those with food allergies or sensitivities.

Plus, we want to know how to make your wonderful dish!

PROGRAM:  "Eat for Your Heart" presented by Delisa Renideo

DEMO: Yummy "Chocolate Mint Waffers" by Delisa Renideo

SILENT AUCTION time again:
Three times a year we hold a silent auction as a fund raiser for Alaska VegFest.
Bring new or lightly used items to be auctioned.  When your item sells you can feel good that you helped AVS fund this year's VegFest!
If your item doesn't sell, please take it home.  (Toni doesn't have room to store them.)

COST:   Alaska Vegan Society Members
$2/person- when you bring a plant-based (vegan)* dish to share.
         $7/person- when you don't bring a dish.
$5/person- when you bring a plant-based (vegan)* dish to share.
         $10/person- when you don't bring a dish.

Click here to become a member.

(Children 5 years old and under are free.  A portion of the money collected will be donated to the church for the use of their room.)

*  All food must be 100% plant-based.  Please no animal products of any kind.  See the "About the Potluck Dinner" section below for more specific information.  If you are unsure of what to bring, click the "Suggest Food" button for some helpful ideas.

  • Vegan dish to share (100% plant-based...see below)
  • Non-disposable plate, bowl, utensils, cup or water bottle
  • Recipe for your dish with your name on it
  • If you don't have time to prepare a dish, COME ANYWAY!  (We just ask you to pay a few dollars more.)

It is also a wonderful opportunity to meet many people who enjoy eating a plant-based diet. In addition to the great food, we have a monthly door prize drawing and a 50/50 split drawing (you get a chance to win some money).

Everyone is invited.
Those who are curious and those who are committed vegans are all welcome. You do not need to be a vegan or vegetarian to attend our events.
However, any food that you bring to the potluck must be 100% plant-based.

Vegan...100% Plant-based Food
We are committed to having all events completely vegan, meaning all foods are 100% plant-based. Please be sure there are NO dairy products (milk, cheese, butter, yogurt, sour cream, cream cheese, ice cream, whipped cream, etc.), eggs, mayonnaise, marshmallows, Jello, fish, poultry or meat in any of the food you bring.

Is this your first time to a vegan potluck
and you don't know what to bring?
We can make some suggestions...

Click on the "Suggest Food" button
or talk to Delisa at 907-232-5144 or
email her at

Recipe Card
Please bring the recipe for your dish. Include your name and a phone number or email address. This helps us all to learn great new recipes from each other.

It is also important for people with food sensitivities to know what ingredients are in your dish.

Alaska Vegan Society Members receive:
Discount admission to all monthly potlucks and a discount on
admission to the Alaska Vegfest coming up in September 2017.
Also, members get a free subscription to VegNews magazine.

Click the "Memberships" button to learn about AVS membership.

Lending Library
We also have a small lending library where you can borrow a variety of videos or books to use and then return when you are done. And we have variety of free magazines and pamphlets.

Future Dinners
We have a potluck dinner the last Saturday of every month, except August & November. Watch our website for dates and times.
