The exclusive Amera® Nail File is made from aluminum oxide crystals; the same material dentists use to polish chipped teeth. Emery boards and regular files cut and tear the end of the nail, leaving the nail layers exposed to dirt and moisture. The polished edge of the fingernail is much more resistant to peeling, splitting, breaking, and snagging. The Amera® Nail File is so much harder than nail material, a properly cared for nail file will last a lifetime (although it can break if dropped on a hard surface). To help prevent breakage, store the nail file in its plastic sheath.
