COVINGTON, WASHINGTON IS THE NEWEST HOME TO US CAMPS' SUMMER CAMP SERIES.
US Camps brings to Covington celebrated clinicians, both
nationally and internationally,and Olympic Gold Medalists.
 
Participants can expect to experience world class coaching and cutting-edge techniques needed to make them winners on the mat. They will also find inspirational rejuvenation through US Camps nationally famous "Road to Glory" series. This series focuses on building character, discipline, and powerful self confidence. The combination of training and mental toughness preparation covered in this camp will help athletes overcome adversity on and off the mat, and make them winners in life!

7:30-9 Check in

9-10:15 session one: Coach Norton on break downs and turns: tech, drill, and situations live

10:25 session two: 25 min rotations

                a. Norton-leg attacks

                b. Higa- Leg rides

                c. Feist-situations live

11:45 athletic activity/game

12:00 Lunch

12:40 Road to Glory – Wrestling at the College Level by Coach Norton

1:00 Session three:  20 min rotations

                a. Norton- Break downs and turns

                b. Higa- leg rides

                c. situations and matches

2:15 Session four:  wrestlers choice

                a. Norton- Freestyle neutral offence:  drills and live goes

                b. Higa- escapes and switches

                c. athletic activity

3:00 “Champs on 3!” -break for the day

 

 July 1st Clinicians: Dave Walker, Brian Higa, Chris Feist

8:15 doors open

9pm-10:15 session one: Walker on hand fighting, 2on1 offence and headlocks

10:25 Session two 25 min rotations:

                a.  Walker- feet to back scoring: up, up, and away!

                b. Higa-cradles

                c.   Feist-review drills and live situations

11:45 athletic activity/game

12pm lunch

12:40 Road to Glory:

1pm session three- 20 rotations:

a. - front headlocks

b. Higa- cradles

c. matches

2:15 session four- wrestlers’ choice

a. Walker Greco Session- gut and gut defense

b. Higa- shrug/Peterson series

c. Feist- athletic activity/game

3pm “Champs on three!” break for the day

July 2nd Clinicians: Brandon Slay, Brian Higa, C Feist

8:15 doors open

9-10:30 sessions one Slay – Leg attacks: tech , drill, and situations live

10:45 session two Slay -leg attack defense/counter attacks: tech, drill, and situations live

11:45 athletic activity/game

12pm lunch

12:40 road to glory- Believe in your dreams; set high goals

1:15 session three Slay- championship training session: tech, drill, and live goes

2:15 Session four - wrestlers’ choice

a. Slay freestyle- gut and gut defence

b. Higa folk style tech and drill review

c. athletic activity/game

3pm “Champs on Three!”- Break for the day

July 3rd Clinicians: Andy Cook, Brian Higa, C Feist

8:15 doors open

9pm -10pm Session one:  Drags, Slide Bys, and Ducks

10:15 goal setting and athletic activity/game

10:45-11:45 grind match

11:45-12 CAMP AWARDS AND Break
