Our finest quality boots (Blackbeard, Arthur, Virgin Queen, Captain Morgan, Porthos) are constructed of the finest products. The leather is first quality cowhide-this means no range marks (scars) in the finish. The boots are machine sewn, NOT hand sewn. This means all seams are even and equally strong-no weak points to give or break under the stress of wearing. The soles on these boots are available three ways. The original sole is a very thin hard plastic and the heel is approximately 1-1/4" in height. This sole is very durable and does NOT slip as you might think. It will allow a bit of sliding that some light fighters desire while lunging into battle. It also give the best "period" appearance for those seeking authenticity in costume. Also available on most models is a lugged Vibram brand sole. This is an extremely durable sole that offers superior footing and traction. It would be recommended for vendors and those that are on their feet all day at faire or events. Now, a one piece sole and heel that offers both durability and comfort is offered. It is NOW the STANDARD SOLE ON STOCK BOOTS (Blackbeard, Arthur black leather, Striders). The lugged sole is special order only, as is the thinner original sole. NOTE-All round toe models are Made in two widths-a normal (A, B, C) or a new wider (D, E, EE). PORTHOS is only made in a medium width.

Our "costume" or budget priced tall and knee boots (Perceval, Edward & Maid Marion) are constructed of a pig leather upper that is lined with tricot for added strength and the sole is of a man made non slip material. These boots offer the occasional wearer or those on a tight budget a wonderful option to the higher priced models, while maintaining a mid-level quality of product. In order to keep manufacturing costs low, we do not offer custom shafts or soles on these boots. The shafts are generously cut in a middle range size and will fit a larger than average leg, also.
