"The thing that impressed me so much about working with Chandler and Desert Wind Paragliding was the level of enthusiasm Chandler brings to the sport. He is incredibly knowledgeable about equipment, weather conditions, technique, and most of all--safety. This is a sport where you always weigh risk to reward, and Chandler helped me to assess each situation with a clear understanding of conditions and my own ability. Chandler of Desert Winds Paragliding helped my fiancée and I in and through getting all of our equipment, P1 and P2 ratings and are currently working on our P3’s. We found him to be an excellent and caring instructor. He has helped us to become confident yet patient pilots and always prioritizes safety first. He took his time with our learning and testing, provided ample and informative instruction, and thoroughly covered all aspects of becoming a solid novice/beginner pilot. From weather knowledge, attitude, preflight, launching, in flight techniques, proper approach and landings, vario and GPS introduction, equipment care and maintenance and more important than almost anything...knowing when it's the best decision not to fly - he covered it all in great detail. He made us take our time and to thoroughly understand and demonstrate our skills through each step of the way. We found him to be personable, friendly, very knowledgeable and an excellent instructor and pilot. He also encouraged us to take a maneuvers course which we both felt made us more technically able and assured. Lastly, the reason we all fly…he helped make it great FUN!!!
