How The Bible Interprets Itself

How the Bible interprets itself

Truth of life is only as good as ones knowledge of truth and how to arrive at truth.

Presently, people everywhere have broken beliefs regarding God and what He can do for them. They don't know how to communicate with God for anything.

They have broken beliefs because they lack knowledge of His perfect word, which is perfect truth, which reveals God and His ways to mankind.

Before one can trust, first he or she must know truth because truth teaches how to trust.

II Peter 1:20 says, Knowing this first, that no prophesy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

This is the first thing we should know as people of God and people of truth. The first thing we should know is that we are not given heavenly right to interpret the Bible any way we want according to our private views.

Here are three main ways THE BIBLE INTERPRETS ITSELF.

#1. In the verse - right where it is written

Approximately 85-90% of the Bible interprets itself right where it is written in the verse.

#2. In the context defines truth by it's context; what subject it is talking about.

Anything written or said can be taken out of context to say something completely different from it's meaning. And that happens regularly by people who use the Bible to say what they want it to say. To do so is not honest or right. To understand truth, every Bible topic must be understood in the light of its context.

#3. According to previous usage where the word or words have been used before.

A classic example of this is Paul's thorn in the flesh. Many people teach many different things about what Paul's thorn in the flesh was but all of them are wrong unless they go back to the first place in the Bible where the term was first used to learn the first and true meaning of the word.

These keys to how the Bible interprets itself are vital to understanding the Bible and its truth that guides life.
