Special "Songs from Burke County" Concert This Friday at the Old Rock School
“Songs from Burke County” features 12 original tracks that retell the famous stories behind the county’s well-known characters. “Call Your Senator, Sam” is based on Senator Sam J. Ervin Jr., the beloved country lawyer and Morganton native whose 1954-74 Senate career put Burke County on the map.

The three songwriters as well as all special guests featured on the album will be performing at the concert. Seating is limited to 500 guests, so anyone interested in attending the concert is encouraged to purchase a ticket in advance.

CDs will go on sale during the concert’s intermission and after the concert, when the band members will be available to sign albums. Refreshments will be sold during the intermission by the Men’s Club of Morganton, the proceeds from which will help the organization purchase bicycles to donate to the Christmas Cheer program.

“Songs from Burke County” also will be released with a 16-page booklet of information on the history behind each song. Melton, Milan and Miller created this album in an effort to rejuvenate the rich histories of Burke County and only have financial interest in the album sales.
