Blessing of the Animals '09

On an altar made from bales of hay, dogs (both very large and teacup size), cats, toy stuffed animals and even cremated remains of pets received special blessings. Each animal was blessed by Pastor Deborah Piggins, St. Peter's Interim Rector. " I love doing it. I love dogs and other furry creatures," she said. The St. Francis Blessing of the Animals service is named for St. Francis of Assisi, lover of all creatures.
