| STEP 1
To start, place the spade directly under the edge of the outer foliage umbrella of the tree or shrub you desire to move. Angle the tree spade slightly so the cutting edge of the spade center ends up close to the middle of the tree.

Place the ram driver over the shaft of the spade and lightly pound the spade into the ground. Make sure the position and the angle is correct before you proceed. Lift the ram and firmly strike it down. Continue to use the ram until you have reached the desired depth of the spade. remove the spade and move it to the next position. Repeat the same process.

Usually three cuts will be enough to complete the job. if the tree is larger, you may need to make four cuts. After you have completed the last cut, firmly but gently pry down on the end of the spade shaft to loosen any remaining soil or small roots that may still be attached. Be sure that the tap root has been cut in two before prying the tree loose.

Remove the ram and pry down on the end of the spade shaft and completely loosen the tree. Fasten the tie-down to the spade and around the tree root ball. Cinch the tie-down securely to hold the tree in place on the spade.

Slide the wheel collar attachment over the spade shaft and slide it down until it rests against the spade. Pin it in place and now you are able to move the tree to its new location.
