By the time many couples decide to pursue surrogacy and/or egg donation, they have been on an emotional roller coaster in their quest to have a baby. We understand that having a child with the assistance of a third party is not your first choice. The decision to take this path to parenthood may be one that was difficult to make and many couples approach surrogacy and/or egg donation with a sense of apprehension. This is perfectly normal. However, once you speak with one of our knowledgeable staff members, you will be surprised at how comfortable the option of a Fertility Assistant becomes. You will have a thorough understanding of the process and once under way, you will be pleasantly surprised when apprehensions dissolve and are replaced by hope and anticipation. We never tire of hearing "this was so much easier than I thought it would be"!
If you are prospective parents researching agencies, there are three key questions you should ask that will help determine which agency is the right one for you.
· How long has the agency been in business and is it reputable?
In recent years, many surrogacy and egg donation agencies have popped up all over the U.S. Sadly, many couples have fallen prey to agencies that promise they will help them to realize their dream of parenthood only to take their money and disappear. Baby Miracles, Inc., a California corporation, is located in North San Diego County, California. Our experienced staff has been dedicated to assisting couples to start or add to their families with the assistance of an egg donor and/or surrogate mother since 1995. Baby Miracles has been in business longer than the majority of agencies in the U.S. and is a respected agency among clients and professionals alike that we have worked with over the years. To us, this is not just a business. Most of our staff members have personally been Fertility Assistants and have a strong desire to be a part of helping couples to experience parenthood.
· What are the fees and costs?
The biggest consideration for most couples is financial. There are two major areas to consider:
(1) What is the actual amount being paid to the agency?
(2) When are the payments due to the agency?
At first glance, an agency's fee may appear to be lower than others. However, in such instances the agency probably has additional costs built into the program that, when added to the "agency fee", significantly increases the agency's compensation.

· Do they have an available Fertility Assistant that meets our requirements?
Baby Miracles maintains an extensive Egg Donor database that contains a broad range of both experienced and first-time Donors located throughout the United States. Our Surrogate Mothers are recruited exclusively in California, a surrogacy-friendly state. While some agencies have waiting lists of up to 18 months for a Surrogate, Baby Miracles generally has available Surrogates at any given time. If we do not a Surrogate that meets a particular couple's preferences, we will advertise on behalf of the couple upon registration. Since the agency does not receive any part of its fee until the couple is matched, we are motivated to ensure couples have a Surrogate and/or Egg Donor in a timely fashion.
