The Rutland 913's unique high inertia generator accumulates more energy than any other comparable wind generator available, owing to its continuous rotation between gusts of wind and its enviable low wind speed start-up. Specifically designed for long range cruisers as well as weekend sailors.
The Rutland 503 is the quietest wind generator on the market. A small, compact unit designed for weekend sailors and smaller boats.
No other wind generator manufacturer uses generators specifically designed for wind turbines. The stator windings were developed without iron cores, for low friction, so Rutland offers the lowest wind speed start-up, by far, of any design. The stator coils are encapsulated in glass fiber to avoid common stator failures. The shaft is fixed, reducing the number of rotating parts.Two single magnets are molded into glass fiber, avoiding the use of multiple magnets glued into position.
