All medical assistants (Administrative or Clinical) are eligible for membership. Active membership is $70 a year. Students in a medical assisting course are eligible for membership at a reduced rate. Student membership is $35 a year. Membership in CMAA looks great on a resume. Retired Members are also welcomed at the reduced rate of $35 year. Membership in CMAA gives you these benefits:

• Regional meetings with speakers on subjects pertinent to daily activities as well as scientific topics.

• The California Medical Assistant, a bi-monthly publication with information on current trends in the medical field, member services, updates and opportunities for continuing education units. California Certified Medical Assistants may use continuing education credits for recertification. In each of the publications, there is an article with an exam to take and mail in for credit. An easy way to obtain a credit for the price of a postage stamp!

• Stimulating statewide meetings are an excellent opportunity for professional growth through technical and motivational presentations and developing leadership skills.

• These meetings provide excellent networking opportunities. Please see the Educational Opportunities section on this website for more information about meeting dates and locations.

• Continuing Medical Education units with credits earned by attending educational programs and instructional seminars for medical assistants. Units are eligible for use in renewing your state certification.

• Opportunity for service in leadership positions. We would love to have you come and work alongside us.
