The school offer two courses in vascular ultrasound.
VAS 200Introduction to Vascular Ultrasound.
This course introduces the basic principles Clinical applications of vascular ultrasound, to include consideration of indications, examination techniques and appearances on both a systemic and regional basis. Topics covered include: hemodynamic principles, vascular doppler signal processing and spectral analysis, normal and abnormal appearances of abdominal and peripheral vasculature, plethysmography. Prerequisite: PHY 210 Applied Ultrasound Physics and Instrumentation, and BIO 110 Anatomy & Physiology
VAS 201Vascular Ultrasound Lab Practicum.
A practicum course designed to ensure competency in the basic skills required in the clinical practice of vascular technology. Students acquire skills in the performance of vascular doppler techniques, indirect blood flow measurements, ultrasound imaging and hemodynamics of the vascular system. Prerequisite: VAS 200 Introduction to Vascular Ultrasound

Hands On Echocardiogram Training

The school offer a practicum course designed to ensure competency in the basic skills required in the clinical practice of cardiovascular technology. Students acquire skills for performing two dimensional, M-Mode, and Doppler ultrasound imaging of the heart. Students also learn the calculation of specified hemodynamic parameters, and equipment troubleshooting.
