Info on making a secure login page:
Make sure that when you use the https:// in https://abc.eznettools.net that you change the abc to secure. This is not really secure nor will the ssl lock logo show up, except in Firefox, unless you also change the abc to secure. Here is an example: https://secure.eznettools.net/
Also you will need to change the URL of the images or any other file on the login page. If you have an image on your login page and you make the page secure and the image is not secure then you will get an error because it is trying to make the web page secure but the page contains non secure items. Here is an example for the Peak Advantage login page below http://peakadvantage.com/testlogin.html:
http://D305131/X360175/jan05/pikespeaklogo.jpg
This is the header graphic logo on the login page. If it is being accessed from the filemanager without the https and also without the secure, then this page will not be secured. To make the page secure you need to make sure you change the image URL to go to https://secure.eznettools.net/D305131/X360175/jan05/pikespeaklogo.jpg
This will not make the image broken since the secure server is the same as the abc server but the ssl certificate is only for secure.eznettools.net. So all of your web pages are secured but not showing the ssl lock or being secure unless you change the abc and the http.
The problem with this is you cannot have your domain name as the domain in the URL. An example that will not work with the example above is this: https://www.peakadvantage.com
As this link is still not secure because the ssl certificate can only apply to secure.eznettools.net.
Another issue is any pages built using EZ-PageBuilder have a hidden blank graphic for the sidebar and this image URL is not referencing secure.eznettools.net. This makes all your pages built in EZ-PageBuilder not show a lock or be secured in all browsers except for Firefox. We looked into fixing this but it is not something the programmers can fix without affecting other tools. So the work around to make a fully secured web page is to design it using EZ-PageBuilder and then copying the HTML code to notepad or any HTML editor and then replacing all of the abc's with secure. Then replace the http:// with https:// in all URL's. Upload this file to your EZ-FileManager and link it to your main reseller page and it will be secured.
Now you will not be able to edit this page in, EZ-PageBuilder since it is not an EZ-PageBuilder file because it has been modified. You can still edit it in the new EZ-TextEditor or use the page you created in EZ-PageBuilder, make your changes, and then follow the previous steps to change the URL's.
Also the same needs to be done to the counter graphic on the bottom of the pages. If you have the counter graphic hidden, then the same hidden graphic will be on the page and will need to be modified.
One last thing you need to know. On your reseller pages where you have your customer login button that send your customers to login, needs to be pointed to the secured page you will have created and the link needs to point to https://secure.eznettols.net/reseller#/xaccount#/folderorfile.html
Once this is done the login page will be secured and the lock will show.

Tyler,

Thanks a ton for the instructions. One request, could you remove about 50% of the text from them or post them somewhere where they are show more readably with ordered lists and such? That would make it much more understandable.

Let's try to keep this simple and easy.

Really, all you need to do in order to create a secure login page is insert the following code into an HTML block on your page. The login page itself will not be secure, but this is unimportant because this page is not the one displaying personal information (credit card numbers, etc...). As soon as the user types in the username and password they will be logged in securely. Depending on their browser configuration, they may even get a notice from their web browser telling them that they are now on a secure connection.

Insert the following into an HTML block:

Login:

User ID:

Password:

This will add a form to the page, which will look like this (disabled):

Login:

User ID:

Password:

If you really need the page with the form to be secure, you will need to create it using something other than pagebuilder, as pagebuilder will add insecure items to the page, causing the end user to get a security warning when they visit the page. Make sure that when you do so, any files you reference (images, etc...) are added using the secure domain name (example: https://secure.eznettools.net/d-number/x-number/filename.gif ).
filename.gif ).       A
