Class of 1951. Deanne Jacobson. Varsity Cheerleader, French Club, Fauvines, Chorus, Notre Maison, Banner Carrier, Student Council. ~ ~ ~ ~ I attended school on the BYU campus from kindergarten through high school and on to BYU until I married Jerry Peters. We have 4 children. Jerry has owned and operated his own business, Kool-Span Home Center, 5000 So. State, Murray, Utah, for 35+ years. @2007 ~ ~ ~ ~ Jeanne Jacobson Peters, 1933 ~ 2021. Deanne Jacobson Peters passed away July 14, 2021 at the age of 88. She was born May 9, 1933 in Provo, Utah to Emil and Daisy Jacobson. She attended Brigham Young University High School -- "BY High" -- where she excelled on the cheerleading squad. She attended BYU and during college worked in San Francisco where she was a runner-up in the Miss Golden Gate pageant. She married Jerry Peters on October 7, 1955, and they later moved to Murray, Utah, where they raised four children. Deanne loved to travel overseas and follow the University of Utah sports teams with Jerry and their close friends. Both she and Jerry enjoyed bowling, bridge and trips to Las Vegas. They were long-time members of the Cottonwood Country Club. Deanne is survived by her four children: Alan Peters (Lori), Nancy Jacobson (Scott), Carolyn Boyd (Randy), and Todd Peters (Becky); along with 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Her passion for archaeology, love for her family and astute insights on world events will be missed but never forgotten. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, July 22, 2021, 1 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State Street, Murray, Utah, with a viewing prior to services from 12:00-12:45 p.m. Interment, Holladay Memorial Park. Alternate address: Lloyd, Eldon, 418 18th St, Evanston, WY 82930-3116. ~ ~ ~ ~ HIS OBITUARY: Eldon Kingsford Lloyd, 81, of Provo passed away on January 28, 2015 at his home, surrounded by his family. Eldon was born November 1, 1933 in Malad, Idaho to Elmer and Orilla Kingsford Lloyd. He married Diane Winter in 1962 and together had three children. They were later divorced. He married Mary Kay Rigby in 1984. Eldon grew up in Provo. He graduated from Brigham Young High School in the Class of 1951, then attended BYU and earned a degree in finance. He served an LDS Mission to Norway. He moved to Southern California and received his MBA from UCLA. Eldon had a very successful career in banking in Los Angeles. Eldon's children and family were most important in his life and for years they enjoyed family ski trips and vacations together. He was an active member of the LDS Church and served faithfully in many callings. Eldon was regarded by those who knew him as a most generous, loyal and kind-hearted man with an amazing sense of humor. He is survived by his wife Mary Kay; three children: Tracy (Brian) Webster; Eric (Tracy) Lloyd and Kim (Peter) Kreissig; eight grandchildren; brother, Ross (Alice) Lloyd and sister-in-law, Melinda Lloyd. He was preceded in death by his brother, Reed Lloyd [BYH Class of 1960], and the family is at peace with thoughts of their reunion. Her parents: Andrew McDonald and Lois Vance McDonald, married January 11, 1932 in Provo, Utah. They had six children, including one son who died at birth, Richard; three additional sons, Robert Andrew McDonald [BYH Class of 1959] (Terry), Gerald David McDonald [BYH Class of 1960] (Janie) and Dean Ronald McDonald (Janet); and two daughters, Elaine Lois McDonald [BYH Class of 1951] Jones (B. Lee), Linda Jane McDonald (Alec) Andrus. ~ ~ ~ ~ HER OBITUARY: Elaine Lois McDonald Jones, 80, our wife, mother, grandma and great-grandma, passed away June 23, 2013, in West Jordan, Utah, surrounded by her husband and children, moving to a new and beautiful place free of the pain and physical restriction. She was born March 16, 1933 in Provo, Utah, to Lois and Andrew McDonald. She graduated from Brigham Young High School in the Class of 1951. Elaine married the love of her life, B. Lee Jones, on January 16, 1953. Together, they created a beautiful and ever-blossoming family tree, and their greatest love was spending time together with their family. She was a talented cook and candy maker; a flourishing painter; enjoyed golfing and traveling with her husband; adored camping, game-playing, and kite-flying with her children and grandchildren; and had a passionate, lifelong pursuit of knowledge, which she generously shared. A member of the LDS Church, she enjoyed teaching in a variety of callings throughout her life, and also worked as a membership and records clerk for the the Church until her retirement in 1997. She is survived by her husband, B. Lee; children Suzanne Moss (Michael); Douglas (Toni); Donald (Carol); Larry (Deanne); Lori Warnick (Lee); Wendy Barbosa (Albert); 21 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Bob McDonald; Gerry McDonald (Janie); Dean McDonald (Janet); and Linda Andrus (Alec). She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Lois McDonald, and her brother, Richard McDonald. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 27, 2013 at Westland 2nd Ward, 7171 S. 2700 W, in West Jordan, where viewings will be held Wednesday 7-8 p.m. and Thursday 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Real Estate Representative (Broker) for LDS Church in Southern California. Served as Mission President in Alabama Birmingham (1995-1998). Semi-Retired Real Estate Broker in Provo. Hobbies: tennis, classic cars and traveling to visit children in Virgina, Idaho, California and Utah. @2008 ~ ~ ~ ~ HIS OBITUARY: Eldon Clair McKell was born September 29, 1932, at the Crane Maternity Home in Provo, Utah to Eldon Grant McKell and Afton B Vincent. A sister, Linda Kay McKell joined the family in December of 1938. Eldon Clair McKell is a grandson of Milo Andrus and Lucy Loomis Tuttle Andrus. He was a Provo boy with friends, aunts, uncles and cousins close. A Provo school in the shadow of Brigham Young University, Brigham Young High School, had him attending BYU from the 8th grade, to high school graduation in the BYH Class of 1951, then earning with a BA degree in Accounting & Finance from BYU in 1958. That degree took him to California with Bank of America in 1957 until he retired in 1988. He then worked for the Church in their real estate department until 1995. On August 31, 1956, he married Claudia Lee Ord in the Los Angeles LDS Temple, living in California, first in Fullerton, then Yucaipa, then Tustin and finally Riverside. He served as a counselor in the California Riverside Mission and then got called to be the President of the Alabama Birmingham Mission in 1995, where 521 missionaries went through their hearts and hands. He had the blessing of having Claudia as his mission companion. After their mission, they returned to Provo, and lived there until his spirit returned to his Heavenly Home on June 17, 2021. Monica Lee Whitlock, Mark Eldon McKell (Susan), Myles Grant McKell (Sue) and Matthew Daniel McKell (Sherri) joined their eternal family between 1957 and 1966 and now live in Richmond, VA, St. George, St. George, and Orem, Utah. 4 children, 18 grands and 30 great grands are eternally joined. All survive him with his youngest granddaughter serving in the Lisbon Portugal Mission. Eldon Clair loved life in the world of Tennis, Golf, Water Skiing, restoring Classic Cars, BYU, and Family Vacations; all while serving in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Missions took him to Virginia Roanoke, Riverside California, Alabama Birmingham, St. George Historic Sites and The Provo MTC. “Called to Serve Him” defined his life. He and Claudia shared the love of the scriptures and of life with work and service to each other and family. Thanking family and friends for love and concern in his last days, with unselfish help from Claudia, Nurse Geof, Nurses Aid Hannah and our sweet neighbor Julianne. Krista was born in Provo, Utah April 12, 1933 to Joseph and Dorothy Nelson, the second of four children. She graduated from BY High School and then from BYU with a degree in elementary education. She married Dale J. Froelich, her sweetheart and companion, on June 14, 1955 in the Salt Lake Temple. Dale and Krista moved to Murray in 1960 where they have since lived and raised their 9 children. Nelson. ~ ~ ~ ~ OBITUARY: Mrs. Gladys Nixon Nelson, age 26, 1192 Ridgedale Circle (3375 South), a former Provo resident, died Tuesday at 8:35 a.m. in a Salt Lake hospital after a long illness [she died on August 2, 1960]. Born on August 7, 1933 in Castle Dale, Utah, to J. W. and Margaret Lea Nixon. Gladys married Grant L. Nelson on March 17, 1955 in the Manti Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She graduated from Brigham Young High School in 1951, and later from Brigham Young University. She was a Granite District school teacher. Her surviors include: husband, Grant L. Nelson; and a son and a daughter: Nathan G. Nelson, and Natalie Nelson, all of Salt Lake City; her parents, Provo; and a brother and three sisters: Jim W. Nixon, Provo; Mrs. Eugene (Grace) Nixon Johanson, Castle Dale; Mrs. Morris (Marjorie Dean) Nixon Robinson, Albuquerque, New Mexico; and Mrs. Bruce (Phyllis-Mendendall) Nixon, Price, Utah. Worked in Southern California after graduation. Met my husband Don Jenson in Hollywood Ward and we married in the Salt Lake Temple. We have ten children - seven boys and three girls. We now have 47 grandchilden and 1 1/2 great grandchilden. Don and I served a full-time mission on Temple Square from 1998-2000. We are serving at the Conference Center giving tours and have done since it opened in 2000. I loved BY High and we both love BYU. We are a BYU family. @2010
