Class of 1934 ~ Honorary. Lapreal Winterton. ~ ~ ~ ~ HER OBITUARY: LaPreal Winterton Larsen passed away of causes incidental to age Friday, July 10, 2009 at the Golden Living Center in Orem, Utah. She was born July 13, 1915 in Magrath, Alberta, Canada to Ralph Stafford and Ann Louise Ririe Winterton. She lived in Canada with her family until she was 12 years old when her family moved to Provo, Utah. She attended Brigham Young High School and Provo High School. She graduated from Brigham Young University in 1938 with high honors. She taught business classes at Moroni High and Payson High School and later at BYU. LaPreal started to date Eugene Larsen while working as a secretary at Weber College in Ogden in 1941. They were married in the St. George Temple on Sept 2, 1942 as Eugene prepared for military duty. While he was overseas, she worked at Geneva Steel. They had five children. Most of her married life was spent in Grand Junction, Colorado, Ephrata, Washington and then retirement in Provo, Utah. She and Eugene were very active throughout their lives in service for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They served a mission together in the Dallas-Fort Worth Texas Mission. They then did genealogy and were ordinance workers in the Provo Temple for many years. LaPreal is survived by her children: Neil (Kay) Larsen, Carol (John) Coles, Jeanene (John) Krogue, Brenda Larsen; 29 grandchildren and 54 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her two sisters, and two brothers, her husband Eugene and her son Howard. Viewing will be held Sunday, July 12 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at Sundberg Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State in Orem. Funeral Services will be on her 94th birthday, July 13, 2009 at 1 pm with a viewing from 11:45 to 12:45 at the mortuary. Interment will be in the Charleston, Utah Cemetery. Class of 1934. Edith Wright. ~ ~ ~ ~ Edith Swinyard Wright was born December 31, 1914 in Paradise, Cache County, Utah. Her parents were Herschel Gibbs Wright and Beatrice Maud Swinyard Wright. She married Joseph Leslie McGregor on June 25, 1934 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She died on April 25, 1963 in Seattle, Washington. Interment, Provo, Utah [or Aultorest Cemetery, Ogden, Utah].
