Oldroyd. A memorial service was held Friday, October 24, 2008, in the Beaverton Stake Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for Dr. Reed I. Oldroyd, who died October 18 at age 91. Reed I. Oldroyd was born April 24, 1917, in Fountain Green, Utah. He graduated from Brigham Young High School in Provo, Utah, in the Class of 1935. In 1941, he moved to Portland, where he graduated from Northwest Dental School. During World War II, he served in the Army Dental Corps. He moved in 1945 to Beaverton, where he was a dentist in private practice for 38 years. He was a member of the church for more than 50 years. In 1941, he married Aileen Smith. Survivors include his wife; daughters, MaryKay Fortie, Janice Vickers and Susan Bendixsen; sons, Dr. Stephen and Dr. Ronald; 24 grandchildren; and 41 great-grandchildren. Student Body Vice President, 1934-1935. ~ ~ ~ ~ Her BYH graduation date confirmed in graduating class list, Salt Lake Telegram, May 7, 1935, p. 14. ~ ~ ~ ~ HER OBITUARY: Marjorie Olson Hasler, died on December 31, 1998 at the Garden Terrace Alzheimers Center in Salt Lake City where she resided for the past year. Marj had been a resident in Golden, Colorado for 35 years, having previously lived in Grand Junction, Colorado; Salt Lake City and Provo, Utah; and Kellogg, Idaho. She was born to Arvil and Alta Olson on October 27, 1917 in Provo, Utah. On November 18, 1938 she was married for time and all eternity to J. William "Bill" Hasler in the Salt Lake Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Marj served faithfully in many callings in her church and responsibilities in her community. Her smile, keen sense of humor, and graciousness that she exhibited throughout her life, increased with her years as she endured to the end. As her health required additional assistance, she was blessed to be cared for by many who genuinely loved her. The memory of her vibrant spirit and dynamic presence will remain always in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She is survived by her daughter, Anne (Lynn) Jefferies of Lakewood, Colorado; and sons, John (Marjorie[0] E.) Hasler of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Richard (Julie) Hasler of Tintaya, Peru; and Stephen (Nan) Hasler of Highland, Utah. Survivors also include 24 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Other survivors include brothers: Jay Olson, Ivan Olson, Edwin Olson, and Stanley Olson; and sister Ethella Olson Berry. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bill, her sister, Maxine Olson St. Joer, and her parents. Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 9, 1999 at the Emigration 27th Ward, 185 "P" St. SLC. Interment, Golden, Colorado Cemetery. [Deseret News, Thursday, January 7, 1999]

His parents were Thomas Earl Pardoe and Kathryn Irene Bassett. Bill died on February 10, 1978 in Connecticut. ~ ~ ~ ~ OBITUARY OF HIS WIFE: (Myrle) Grace Hansen Pardoe. Our beloved mother, grandmother and sister, Grace Pardoe, passed away peacefully from natural causes on January 2, 2000 in West Jordan, Utah. Grace was born on March 9, 1919 in Rexburg, Idaho, to Andrew Hintze Hansen and Dagny Hansen. She married William Edward Pardoe on June 22, 1941 in Flushing, New York. The marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on April 13, 1983. Grace was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Pardoe; sisters, Selma Hansen McCormick, Donna Hansen Luke; brother, John Hansen; and her parents. Grace is survived by her three daughters: Kathryn Pardoe Irwin, New York, New York; and Sara Pardoe Byron and Billie Pardoe, both of South Jordan, Utah; six grandchildren, who were the joy of her life, Graeme Marshall, Boston, Massachusetts; Melanie Marshall, Prescott, Arizona; William Irwin, New York, New York; Donna Folland Nixon, South Jordan; Wendy Folland Sorensen, Cedar City; and Susan Folland, South Jordan. Grace is survived by her two sisters, Ella Hansen McCormick and Ethel Hansen Reinhardt and brother-in-law, Charles McCormick. Grace loved her sons-in-law, Arthur Irwin, Mac Byron, and former sons-in-law, Richard Folland and Mike Marshall. Grace (Gracie to her friends), spent her life serving her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed a wonderful life with her husband, Bill, and traveled throughout the world with him. Her primary objective, however, was to provide a safe and wonderful home for her three girls. She sewed beautiful wardrobes for them when they were children. Her home was open to friends of all ages and backgrounds. She always had a pot of chili going for the skiers or paddle tennis players, and loved to go out with their friends and dance and entertain. She loved to play jazz on the piano and music was a big part of her life. She had many wonderful friends in Scarsdale, New York and throughout Westchester County, New York and in Connecticut. After moving to Utah to be near her younger daughters, Grace renewed her faith in the LDS Church and spent many hours in service in the Extraction program. She supported numerous missionaries anonymously and was always generous to anyone in need. Her tender heart and love for people earned her many devoted friends over the years. The family suggests contributions be made to the American Red Cross Relief Fund. Graveside service were held at the Salt Lake City Cemetery on Wednesday, January 5, 2000. They had six children: 1. William Junius Robinson, born June 4, 1906 in Jensen, Uintah County, Utah, and died February 2, 1996 in Kensington, Maryland; 2. Ronald Billings Robinson, born December 10, 1908 in Heber, Utah, and died November 2, 1909; 3. Ruth Robinson [BYH Class of 1931] (Robert F.) Harris, born May 20, 1913 in Provo, Utah, and died September 26, 2005, in Escondido, California; 4. George B. Robinson [BYH Class of 1935], born about 1917; 5. Maree Robinson, [female] born September 16, 1919 in Provo, Utah, and died on December 18, 1989 in Bethesda, Maryland, interment in Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia; and 6. John Billings Robinson, born February 18, 1924 in Provo Utah, and died March 9, 1924 in Provo. ~ ~ ~ ~ HIS OBITUARY: George Billings Robinson , 91, passed peacefully from this life on August 19, 2007. He was a husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, good friend to many and was loved by his family. George was born April 27, 1916 in Provo, Utah to J. William Robinson and Emily Deborah Billings Robinson. He graduated from Brigham Young High School in 1935. He married Flo Ellerton Robinson on September 21, 1938. They were later sealed to each other for time and eternity in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on August 30, 1957. He has now joined his beloved Flo who preceded him in death in December of 2002. George was a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army during World War II and was stationed in the Aleutian Islands. He spent the majority of his working career as an officer at the Title Insurance Agency of Utah. He retired in 1981, and with his wife Flo, enjoyed many adventures in their motor home as they traveled throughout the western United States and Canada with their many friends. They also found time to travel to Europe and the Far East and enjoyed the friendship, opportunities and challenges afforded to them through these trips. They enjoyed golf and were former members of Willow Creek Country Club. He was blessed to have the companionship of many lifetime friends through bridge, dinner, and dance clubs and to be able to share these experiences with Flo. He was an active member of the LDS Church and served many organizations. One of his greatest joys was the simple virtue of serving as a frequent patron at the temple. George is survived by their three children: Michael G. Robinson (Suzanne Elliott) Chesterfield, Missouri; Reed Robinson (Theresa Martinez) Salt Lake; Lisa Ann Moffat (Kayle) Medford, Oregon; and nine grandchildren: Gregory Robinson (Nancy); Heather Macy (Bill); Lessa Gillespie (Edgel); Bart Robinson (Dana); Kathryn Butler (Mark); Michael, Annie, Chase, and Megan Moffat; and 12 great-grand-children. His brother-in-law Keith J. Ellertson (Elaine Grover) also survives George. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Flo, his parents, three brothers and two sisters. He died in February of 1977 in Pleasant Grove, Utah. His parents were Thomas Hyrum Nerdin and Julia Mott Nerdin. Helen died on June 6, 1988.

He is survived by his wife, two daughters: Mardrene Roper Robinson, Marianne Roper (Richard) Van Beekum, eight grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. Watts [BYH Class of 1969] (dec.), Sonora, California. ~ ~ ~ ~ Verdun Sr. second married Betty Rae Wilkinson Nelson Watts in 1970. ~ ~ HER OBITUARY: Betty Rae Wilkinson Nelson Watts, 82, of Orem, Utah, died December 4, 2003. She was born July 31, 1921, in Ogden, Utah, the only child of George E. and Lyndall Farr Wilkinson. She married Torvall L. Nelson on April 4, 1942. They were later divorced. They had six children, Lyndalll Pearl (deceased), Steven (Phyllis), Linda (Gregory) Clark, Carole (Jan) Jensen, David (Suzanne), and Trudy (Gary) Ovard. Betty married Verdun A. Watts, Sr., in the Salt Lake Temple on June 1, 1970. Betty Rae attended the University of Utah, the LDS Business College, and graduated with honors from Brigham Young University. She was among the first librarians in the Alpine School District, helping design five new media centers and later becoming district supervisor of libraries. She enjoyed serving in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, particularly as a missionary with her husband in the St. Louis Missouri Mission. Betty Rae is best known for her cheerful smile and happy outlook on life. Her children as well as the children of her second marriage consider her a wonderful mother. Her posterity includes 18 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, December 8, 2003 in Orem. Interment, Orem City Cemetery. He was born February 6, 1918, in Kanosh, Millard County, Utah, to John Alma & Alice Lovina Dame Watts. Verdun first married Bernice Peay, March 19, 1937. They were the parents of 5 children: Carolyn Ruth Watts [BYH Class of 1955] Sargent (deceased); Edyth Ann Watts [BYH Class of 1960] Meredith; Verdun Austin Watts, Jr. [BYH Class of 1962]; James Doyle Watts [BYH Class of 1969] (deceased); and Connie Watts Post. After Bernice's decease in 1969, Verdun second married Betty Rae Wilkinson (Nelson) on June 1, 1970. They served a mission together to the Missouri Saint Louis mission. He received his Bachelor's degree from BYU, his Master's degree in Business Administration from Northwestern University. He worked for US Steel as an accountant for 32 years. He loved his family, gardening, running and playing racquetball. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in the High Council of the Sharon Stake, Counselor in three Bishoprics, Temple Worker in Provo & Mount Timpanogos Temple in American Fork. Verdun is survived by his children, Verdun Austin Watts, Jr., Bountiful, Utah; Edyth Watts Meredith, Valley Village, California; and Connie Watts (Greg) Post, Rescue, California. He has 24 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wives, daughter & son. Her parents were Golden LeGrand Woolf [BYH Principal] and Fanny Elizabeth (Beth) Woolf, and they had three children, including Aenone Woolf Christensen [BYH Class of 1935]; Wilbur C. Woolf [BYH Class of 1936]; and Henry McCune (Mac) Woolf [BYH Class of 1940]. ~ ~ ~ ~ HER OBITUARY: Aenone Woolf Christensen, January 8, 1917 - July 6, 2015. Resided in Mesa, Arizona. Aenone Woolf Christensen passed away on Monday, July 6, 2015, at the age of 98, in Mesa, Arizona. She was born January 8, 1917 to Golden LeGrand Woolf and Beth Coombs Woolf in the small town of Cardston, Alberta, Canada. Her early school years were spent in the southern Alberta towns of Cardston and McGrath. In 1929 the family moved to Europe where her father presided over the French Mission. She loved the language and people of France, and developed a great love of opera while living in Paris. She returned with her family to Provo, Utah, where she graduated from BY High School in the Class of 1935. Her father served as the Principal of Brigham Young High School. She then graduated from Brigham Young University. While a student at BYU, Aenone met and married Merrill Grant Christensen. Aenone taught school in Duchesne, Utah for a couple of months before the beginning of World War II. WWII quickly ended her teaching career and she lived the life of an Army/Air Force wife during the next few years. After WWII ended, Aenone and Grant moved to San Francisco where Grant attended dental school. After dental school they spent one snowy year in Provo, Utah before deciding to head south to enjoy the Arizona sunshine. Aenone and Grant arrived in Mesa on January 1, 1953, with four daughters. Another daughter was born in Mesa. Mom was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and homemaker. She served in a variety of church callings. She and her husband served as missionaries in the Johannesburg, South Africa Mission. She was an Ordinance Worker in the Mesa, Arizona Temple, for almost 10 years, alongside her husband. She loved her Savior, Jesus Christ. Along with her great love and enjoyment of the arts, her favorite pastimes were studying the scriptures, sewing, reading, knitting, and spending time with her family. Her family is going to miss her quick wit, her sense of humor, her funny stories, and her up-to-the-minute knowledge of the news and sports. Our family would like to thank PJ, Steve, and their team of care-givers at Caring Heart Terrace for the tender loving care they have given Mom. Her husband Grant preceded her in death in March 2009. She is survived by five daughters, Berit (Frank) Purcell – Mojave, California; Kathy – South Ogden, Utah; Karen – Mesa, Arizona; Janice (Larry) Metcalf – South Ogden, Utah (currently serving as missionaries in Sao Paulo, Brazil South); and Marilyn (Dennis) Ellsworth - Mesa, Arizona. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by two younger brothers, Wilbur (Wanda) Woolf, and Mac (Bonnie) Woolf. There will be a viewing Friday evening, July 17th from 5-7, at Meldrum Mortuary, 52 N. Macdonald, Mesa. Services will be Saturday, July 18, 2015 at the Mesa 20th Ward, 848 N. Westwood, Mesa, Arizona, 10 a.m., with a viewing from 9 – 9:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers, consider a donation to the LDS Humanitarian Fund, the Perpetual Education Fund at www.ldsphilanthrophies.org or the charity of your choice.
