Class of 1967~Honorary. Carol Miller. ~ ~ ~ ~ HER OBITUARY: Carol Miller Bethers, 1949 ~ 2010. Carol Miller Bethers died September 18, 2010 in Montpelier, Idaho. She was born September 25, 1949 in Provo, Utah to William Elbert Miller and Ella Romney Miller. She grew up in Provo and went to Brigham Young Elementary School, Farrer Jr. High and graduated from Provo High. She married Dale Bethers, June 5, 1969 in the Salt Lake Temple. They lived in Provo a few years then moved to Heber City, Utah for 30 years and moved to Nounan, ID in 1998 until her death. Carol was active her entire life in the LDS Church. She had many callings in the ward, stake and region. She loved animals and raised llamas. She is survived by her husband and 12 of her 14 children, Miguel Bethers of Provo; Monique Bethers of Phoenix; Daniel (Debbie) Bethers of Pelham, Alabama; Natalie (Dave) Southwick of Salt Lake City; Douglas Bethers of Salt Lake City; James (Jade) Bethers of Vernal; Brandon (Keisha) Bethers of Vernal; Asha Bethers of Logan; Cameron Bethers and Clint Bethers all of Nounan and Blake Bethers of Montpelier, Idaho; brother-in-law, Dennis Adams of Salt Lake City; two brothers, Dr. William E. (Bill) Miller of San Diego, California and Jay R. (Lynne) Miller of Sandy, Utah and 10 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Marilyn and two of her children, a daughter, Melissa, and a son, Darrell. Funeral services were held on Thursday, September 23, 2010 in the Georgetown LDS Church in Georgetown, Idaho. Interment, will be at the Georgetown Cemetery, Idaho. [Deseret News, September 21, 2010]

Last attended BYH in the 9th Grade. ~ ~ ~ ~ OBITUARY: Susan Carole Payne died on Tuesday, July 25, 2006 after a long struggle with cancer. Susan Carole Payne was the oldest of the 12 children of Dean and Jaynann Payne of Provo, Utah. She was the wife of Stephen D. Miller, and they resided in Medford, Oregon, for the past 5 years. Their children: Scott Adam Bitter (Kyre) of Portland, Oregon; Heidi Bitter Brady (Bill) of Provo, Utah; and Shawn Howard Bitter (Aubrey) of Merced, California. They had six grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, hiking, traveling, and gourmet cooking and especially devoted her life to her passion for dancing. She traveled the world performing many varieties of ethnic dance with several notable international dance companies and enjoyed a long career of teaching ethnic, flamenco, dance orientale and sacred dance. She had a multi-interest background. She worked in numerous fields of business, including the legal, medical, insurance, sales, marketing and public relations professions. She reached out to people through office management to volunteer organizations, advocacy groups, career counseling, teaching school and running her own dance school. She devoted 10 years to working in home health and hospice care. She graduated with honors from the University of Utah with two degrees. She was an ordained minister and a long-time peace activist. Her large family and circles of friends will dearly miss her. Her whole life was about teaching and planting seeds -- her most important values. She loved building communities, promoting peace, compassion and love of beauty and nature. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, August 1, 2006, at the Oak Hills 9th Ward Hillside Chapel, 1900 North 1500 East, Provo. [Provo Daily Herald, July 29, 2006.]
