What is an "expert?" There is no certification or degree that confers the title of expert. However, ChannelScience has found that there are two hallmarks that distinguish a true expert in any field.
1. An expert can explain a complex technology or idea clearly and usefully to those who were not previously familiar with the topic.
2. An expert does not need to know everything about a topic, but he/she does know of the range of ideas that are relevant to the topic and how to find out the current state-of-the-art, as needed.
