I’ve been a member of the Jackson Memory Walk Committee for the past 3 years. It is a great opportunity to help bring the community together with friends and families who’ve been stricken with Alzheimer’s disease.
It’s a great support not only to the families but to the cause for a cure and or prevention of Alzheimer’s disease. Last year and this year I have been involved in coordinating musicians to come to play during the walk. Last year was great with friends Burt and Bea Furman who serenaded the walkers as they passed and I also played some tunes along the trail.
The most fun was the Parkside Middle School Drum Line who carried out the end of the walk with their phenomenal rhythms. The Jackson Memory Walk is on September 27, 2009. Please come out in support of The Great Lakes Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association’s Memory Walk in Jackson or check online for dates of the Memory Walk nearest to you.
