May's here! It's been a long time coming, but it's finally here! Just four days ago, it was snowing in Wisconsin. Hopefully, we're all done with that nonsense.
With May comes Mother's Day, graduations, weddings, proms, Memorial Day, and all sorts of other occasions. We have designs to fit all your occasion needs. Come see what's new for Mother's Day, or go to our "What's New?" section and browse. To all of your who are moms, we wish you a wonderful day.
While many of you may be chomping to get outside, remember that needlework gardens are beautiful, too. Our May Designer-of-the-Month makes beautiful gardens. Read more about her later in this newsletter.
Be sure to also read about clubs, specials, and winners. We've got a lot of news, so let's get to it!

We have some great new stuff! We especially love July Bouquet from Cedar Hill, Lizzie*Kate's "Housework Never Killed Anyone," Homespun Elegance's "Virtue Sampler" and "Birds and Blossoms," and our favorite, "Heart of America" from Little House Needleworks. We've also stocked a nice supply of Aunt Martha's Transfers. Yes, we get lots of requests for them. They take us back to our youth (always a nice thing). We also have the pillow cases and flour sack towels to go with them.
New gadgets are here. (Aren't gadgets fun? Quilters have so many, now we're gaining on them.) Magnetic needle holders from Nordic Needle and Kelmscott Designs are here. Also from Kelmscott are thread minders and mother-of-pearl rulers.
We have cute, cute totes from Mary Engelbreit and Lady Jane. "Stitchopoly" will be here in mid-May. Great new preemie scissors from Rainbow Gallery are here, too. Whew....the list goes on and on. Enjoy!

Judy was lucky to attend a seminar Great Lakes Region of the Embroiderer's Guild of America Madison Chapter. It was terrific. She took a class called "Ellen's Garden." The teacher was Betsy Morgan from Virginia. Oh, did Judy learn some good stuff and was inspired to create her own stumpwork design called, "Flight of the Dragonflies." Look for her to teach this as a one day class in the fall. (Could "Flight of the Bumblebees" be a second in the series? We'll all have to wait and see!) In the meantime, if you want to know how to make a perfect buillion, just ask her. She's now so smart!

May's Designer of the Month is Country Garden Stitchery. Cathie Richardson, from Winnemucca, Nevada, is the designer, and all of her designs are of bright, cheerful flowers. Her chart, 'Spring Jewels,' says on the back, "It's a little vignette of spring flowers that brightens the garden after the cold snow melts and the gray sky of winter fades away." We need some spring flowers after our long winter. Her designs will, indeed, brighten the garden and our moods.
