Hello Everyone,
Well, as some of you have figured out Judy is leaving. This has been a big year; turning 50, getting divorced, and twins graduating high school. She decided this was as good of a time as any for a move. Hudson, Wi is where she grew up and where one of her brothers lives. Soooo... Judy has sold her interest in the store to Sarah and is moving north. We will still bring Judy back as a guest teacher every so often. She will be here til the end of May. Now don't go fretting....Sarah intends to stay here for a long time.

......................PARTY TIME....................
WEDNESDAY MAY 20th from 3:00p.m.til 8:00p.m. we will be having a going away party for Judy. We will set up tables for people to stitch,sit,chat and maybe have a bite or two of food. Come on down to the store to say goodbye to Judy. Judy will be leaving us a couple of days after Memorial Day. Please stop by.

April was a great month for new stuff. We've got lots of good newbies, including....
The Autumn Series of Buttons & Beads from Mill Hill. Each one of these is lovely, especially the one titled, "Fall Leaves."
Angel Stitching's newest, "PMS," is perfect for some of us. It reads, "My greatest fear is there is no PMS and this is my real personality." What a terrible thought!

Blackbird's newest in their series of stockings is here. "Three Stockings for April," showcases a stocking with an umbrella, one with sweet peas, and one that's a spring wreath. This series is lovely. If you'd like to get in on the auto for it, let us know.

For those of you who've wanted to try silk gauze, Erica Michaels' new "Grand Old Flag" is the perfect starter piece. Silk gauze is 40 count, but easy to work on because you only do 1/2 a cross stitch. It's lovely and small and perfect for the summer ahead.

Threads That Bind has four new punchneedle patterns. Each is great, folksy and fun. Her pieces are a little larger than most punch patterns and a bit more detailed. They're wonderful.

|
"Circle of Friends" is the newest from Mirabilia. Done on Coffee Bean Linen from Wichelt, this one is of three golden-haired goddesses dancing amid falling fuschia roses. Each has her own beaded gown of peach, lemon and mint green.
|
|
|
La-D-Da loves her songs and limericks. "Down By the Bay" is the newest. The watermelon on it makes us thirsty for summer.

Madeline absolutely loves Little House Needworks' "Bee Sampler." It's perfect for all you bee lovers. "Alphabet Rhyme" is perfect for young children or teachers of young children.

Thread Cards
We've finally updated our thread inventory cards for Weeks Dye Works, Crescent Colors cottons and silks, and The Gentle Art. These are free and yours for the asking.

We've just received a nice new shipment of greeting cards from Meri Meri. These are so cute you may want to frame them.

May's fabric is from Zweigert. It's 28ct Hint of Heather linen. It is lovely and perfect for this time of year, and it is a colorfast over-dyed. A fat 1/4 is 418.50 and a fat 1/8 is $9.25.

This month's ornament is "Angel" from Blue Ribbon Designs. We'll use Rainbow Gallery Mandarin (bamboo) floss, Dinky Dyes silk, and a #12 perle cotton.

"Hit the Links" is this month's Pearls kit. A quick stitch, it's perfect for spring. The kit includes the fabric, chart, button, threads and frame for only $28. The 18th hole and golf ball make you want to get out there and swing.

Want your kids to learn needlework? Want your kids to have a fun place to go once a week this summer? Then we have a deal for you....
Kids' Kamp is a five week needlework camp geared for kids aged 10 and over. We'll meet each Tuesday afternoon from 1:00 - 2:30. There will be two camps, so you can sign your child up for the one that best fits your family's schedule.
Session 1 is every Tuesday from June 16 through July 14.
Session 2 is every Tuesday from July 21 through August 18.
Your kids will get a denim tote bag that they can decorate with needlework. They can make them funky or pretty, mod or cutesy. They'll learn beading, embroidery, tassels and cord making, cross stitch and punchneedle.
The camp cost is $8 per weekly session, or $35 for the entire five week camp if you register and pay by June 1.
This will be fun. And, it will bring out the creativity in your child. Send your kids to camp this summer without worrying that they'll get homesick.

Beginning Stumpwork - This is your last chance to take a stumpwork class from Judy. Stitch a beautiful pansy that will be mounted on a hand turned wood pincushion. This is a two part class.
