Monday,
Yesterday in our Sunday services, we spent time in Nazareth where Jesus grew up and where he received some of his harshest responses during his ministry. He is our example of being steadfast ... focusing on the finish line ... not distracted through discouragement ... living for an audience of one ... living responsibly today in light of eternity ... along with being our Messiah, He is our model of how to keep on ... keeping on ... doing what is right for others.
Today's verse is 1 Corinthians 15:58 which can offer us encouragement wherever we need it to continue to do what we know to be right. What habit, discipline, priority, attitude, perspective, commitment, response ... do you know is Gods will for you today? Make a fresh commitment to stay at it, trusting God with the results. What we do for God in His strength ... will reap fruit in Gods time.
Therefore, my beloved, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, because you know that in the Lord your labor is not in vain. 1 Corinthians 15:58

Focus
Where do you need more understanding? What will be the focus of your thoughts today? The tendency for too many is to desire more understanding but not discipline ourselves ... focus our thoughts in the right direction ... to gain more understanding.
Today’s verse is from the book of Proverbs.
“A person of understanding sets their face toward wisdom, but the eyes of a fool are on the ends of the earth.” Prov. 17:24
Today, where you need clarity, discernment ... wisdom ... seek the will of God and carve out time to read the word of God. God promises to provide wisdom as we need it if we will focus our attention (set our face toward) knowing Him more and applying his truths to our lives.

Become Humble
“Clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble. Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand that he may lift you up in due time.”
1 Peter 5:5-6
Humility is not insecurity ... but seeing yourself more clearly the way God sees us. God gave us all strengths, but he also made it impossible to succeed in life without lots and lots of help ... ultimately from Him and also from those God places around us.

Freedom is something very special and often expensive. Jesus Christ died on the cross to pay for our freedom as we choose to accept his offer to be our savior (to forgive us from our sins) and leader (to guide us to become the people God calls and empowers us to be). Today’s verse challenges us to recognize the freedom we have in Christ to no longer be bound to our sins and fears. Let’s all take a moment today and thank God for His amazing grace and be careful to not slide back into a ‘legalistic mentality’. Praise God that we don’t have to earn God’s love to experience God’s love.
It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. Galatians 5:1 (NIV)
In honor of Veteran’s Day, let’s all also reflect on the freedom that we all enjoy as citizens of the United States of America. Our soldiers of the past and present deserve our honor and our gratitude. Let’s not take our freedom lightly that they have and are paying a price for …. and let’s all be prayerful in how we can use our freedom responsibly.
