I have always been attracted to vivid colors, intricate patterns and details. I discovered polymer clay in 1991, a medium which provided the perfect outlet for my desired expression of color and design. I create my original designs utilizing an ancient glass making technique known as milefiori (thousand flowers). I use this technique to create translucent canes, which are then applied to glass to achieve a luminous effect. The caning technique consists of forming a long roll by stacking individual rolls, triangles, etc. until I achieve a design that runs the full length of the cylinder. This can be sliced and applied to flat or curved surfaces as a design element. Each piece is finished by hand sanding and applying a Varathane sealer. This process assures a quality piece of handmade artwork.
