Our Take:
I think you already know what you’re getting just by reading the title of this mini sketch show. I mean, Time And Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! pretty much tells you what to expect from the content on the disc to follow. The show itself is featured as part of the Adult Swim lineup of late night absurdist comedy bits on Cartoon Network and comes from the creators of another short-lived Adult Swim program, Tom Goes To The Mayor.

Like most Adult Swim shows, Time And Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! is going to be love it or hate it. Most of the time the skits have no purpose and they’re weird or dumb for the sake of lampooning weird and dumb, but they’re also always funny. Some are stellar (every moment involving John C. Reilly’s character Dr. Steve Brule are the funniest segments of the show) but even the ones that don’t come out swinging as hard as those are still way above a lot of other hit or miss sketch shows on the air right now.

Because of each episode’s 11-minute running time the creators that be, Tim and Eric, don’t waste a moment on something that might not work. Every bit is good. They nail ‘awkward’ in ways you didn’t think possible.

The DVD is only a single disc but there’s a good amount of extras going on.

* Commentary by Tim and Eric – On all ten episodes.

* How’d Dey Do Dat? (14 minutes) – Behind the scenes clips from some of the segments (mostly the ones featuring celebrity appearances.)

* Lost Gems and Deleted Scenes (12 minutes) – Seven extra bits here.

* Awesomecon (3 minutes) – It appears Tim and Eric held an “Awesomecon” at a park and did some videotaping of the event.

* Oops and Ding Dongs (5 minutes) – Outtakes.

* Promos (2 minutes) – Promos for the Tim And Eric Awesome Show.

* Great! (But Not Great Enough) (22 minutes) – Extended scenes and missing moments.

The show features a plethora of guest stars that people will love and that may be the DVD’s strongest selling point: to draw in viewers other than those already watching it on Adult Swim. The special appearances include: John C Reilly, Michael Cera, David Cross, Bob Odenkirk, and Zach Galifianakis, just to name a few. Pick this one up if you like sketch comedy, Tom Goes To the Mayor, or anyone on that list of celebrities. You shouldn’t be let down.
