The Dukes of Hazzard: Two Movie Collection

Official Synopsis:
What's more fun than 10 in the tank and four on the floor? Tom Wopat, John Schneider, Catherine Bach and more of your Dukes of Hazzard favorites together again! In Reunion!, folks come home to Hazzard and discover a plot to turn Hazzard Swamp into a theme park... leaving the swamp critters high and dry. Before you can say wait a durn minute, the cousins are back in the General Lee, tearing up the roads to stop the nefarious scheme. Then they head west for Hazzard in Hollywood and a big-time recording deal. It turns out the deal includes a Russian mobster, a sultry songstress from the 'hood and a beautiful blonde vice-mayor with the hots for Enos. Double the Dukes - double the down-home fun!

Our Take:
The Dukes of Hazzard: Two Movie Collection surprised me. I liked watching the reunion movies, which is a fun change from when they were a TV series back in the day. Back in the late ‘70s to early ‘80s, Daisy Duke was the only thing that made the show worth watching in my opinion. Boss Hogg, Cooter, Cletus and the other goofballs were just too syrupy and stupid to stand. But, when Daisy showed up in her Daisy Dukes, wow! Obviously, Daisy is not as hot in middle age as she was at 25, so I thought: “Great; another crappy couple of movies!” I was pleasantly surprised that the writing and acting had improved a lot, though. Both movies turned out to be pretty watchable.

Although this is a double feature DVD with two movies, there are no extra features to be found.

I would recommend The Dukes of Hazzard: Two Movie Collection DVD for the many fans of the show and for their children who have never seen the show before. It’s pleasant, light fare that may be enjoyed by the whole family.
