Our Take:
Once again, Dragon Dynasty proves why the Genius Entertainment imprint is one of the most exciting things to happen to DVD in a long time. Invisible Target, the latest release from the Asian import label, is one of the best action films I’ve seen in a long time. I don’t understand why these films don’t get released theatrically in America, but I’m truly glad that Dragon Dynasty is committed to bringing the best in Asian cinema to U.S. shores. While there’s the occasional film that doesn’t work in their release slate, for the most part they bring us some of the most high-octane action films around, and some of them, such as Invisible Target, are way better than the stuff Hollywood is churning out.

Invisible Target boasts something of a who’s who of Asian action stars for its cast. Teaming up Shawn Yue, Nicholas Tse, and Jacky Wu Jing would be like an American action film starring Bruce Willis, Sylvester Stallone, and Arnold Schwarzenegger (only when they were a lot younger). Throw into the mix Jaycee Chan, the son (and spitting image) of Jackie Chan, and this is a film filled with superstars. The real star, though, is director Benny Chan, who pulls off a multi-faceted action spectacle filled with hand-to-hand combat, gunfights, and chase scenes, yet still manages to work in realistic characters, a good sense of humor, and even a little bit of a plot. In a word, it’s amazing. Simply amazing.

Invisible Target is one of dragon Dynasty’s Two-Disc Ultimate Editions, and it’s one of the best DVDs they’ve done yet, loaded with more extra features than on just about any DD disc to date.

Even if you hate subtitles and don’t watch foreign action films, if you love action movies at all you owe it to yourself to watch Invisible Target. It’s a non-stop thrill ride of a movie, and if the idea of the most incredible rooftop foot chase you’ve ever seen doesn’t entice you, then maybe the remaining endless action sequences will.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
