Our Take:
Maybe I’m flying my geek flag a bit too high here, but this is the season of Mission: Impossible I’ve been waiting for. Why? Two words: Leonard Nimoy.

Okay, yes, I’m a Trek geek, but look, Nimoy’s output outside of the Star Trek universe is so minimal, that I was extremely psyched to get the chance to watch a whole season of a completely non-sci-fi show with him in a different role from Mr. Spock. I’ve reviewed the past three seasons of Mission: Impossible and I’ve had nothing but good things to say about the show all along, but I’m particularly excited that this season (Nimoy’s first) has finally made it to DVD.

It’s not as if Nimoy’s presence reinvents the show, but as a team member who’s also a magician, he adds a bit of fun to the sometimes staid team. As always, Peter Graves and Greg Morris are present to round out the team, and the season as a whole is a pretty solid effort. As with the previous years, some of the episodes suffer from some minor pacing problems and the show can feel a bit long, but overall it’s quite enjoyable.

As with most Paramount TV-on-DVD releases, Mission: Impossible – The Fourth Season is lacking any extra features at all. Boo!

Mission: Impossible – The Fourth Season will be another set that fans of the show will consider a must-have, but this one should also attract the notice of a few Trekkies along the way.
