Our Take:
Penn & Teller: Bullsh*t! The Complete Fifth Season, much like the four seasons that proceeded it, is an excellent collection. I honestly thought I wouldn’t enjoy this show when my friends told me about it purely because I only knew Penn & Teller from all their educational videos I had to watch in film school and their comedy schtick. And, well, they just didn’t interest me. But I was wrong in my assumptions because it turned out these two guys are just pissed off people who like to call out liars. That’s something I can get down with.

If you haven’t been watching this show all along, there probably isn’t much more I can say that will make you go out and pick all these season collections up other than that you really are missing out if you don’t. The only negative thing I can say about this show is that the already short seasons are getting shorter, with the twelve episodes being cut down to ten.

The guys are definitely having harder times finding things to call “Bullsh*t!” on as some of the episode’s titles sound like they could be lame: Mt Rushmore comes to mind as a boring-sounding title, but trust me, it’s not. Other episode titles are as top-notch as ever, as are the episodes themselves: Nukes, Hybrids & Lesbians and Breast Hysteria.

There are no special features included on this set.

Also, just to throw this in there, there is an incredibly funny sticker on the back of the box that states “CORRECTION - Disc Format: Full Screen” Obviously they had to put that there because there was a misprint somewhere in production and the boxes were printed saying the show was in widescreen, but I just found it incredibly funny that there’s a sticker with bright yellow lettering telling me what’s what.

So, that’s really it. Penn & Teller: Bullsh*t! The Complete Fifth Season is an excellent show that everyone should be watching, laughing and learning with. Don’t let your politics and their politics get in your way of enjoying this show.
