The Eye 3

Official Synopsis:
Some believe that our world is one of many, that our existence is merely an intersection between countless dimensions - known and unknown. We run into strangers we don't see, hear tunes we don't hear. Most of us remain ignorant. But there are always those who are a little different, they would risk everything to find the truth if not the thrill - that is, to see the other side - just once in their lives.

Our Take:
The absolute coolest part about The Eye 3 is that its actual title is The Eye 10. I know that sounds crazy since this is the third film in a trilogy of Asian horror films, but that’s what it is. The “10” in question actually refers to the plot of The Eye 3 in that this film is about a group of teenagers who find a book called The Ten Encounters which is about the ten different ways it’s possible to see ghosts. Despite the title having a logical explanation I still enjoy for how completely out of left field it sounds.

The Eye 3 actually starts out semi-decent with a group of monks sitting around a girl doing a séance or what have you. Things start to creep up a bit when the girl floats into the air and begins spinning in a circle while growling. But then it happened; not even three minutes into the movie and I lost all faith in it. The girl opens her mouth and out pops the absolute worst CGI’ed tongue I’ve ever seen. You just don’t understand how bad CGI can actually be until you see this. Sci-Fi Channel original movies’ CGI is breathtaking in comparison to whatever the hell this was.

Special features include:

* Ten Ways To See Ghosts (8 minutes) – A breakdown on each of the processes.

* The Making Of The Eye 3 (8 minutes).

The Eye 3 is shot like an episode of MTV’s Real World and I can’t even begin to fathom why in the world they titled it The Eye 3 or The Eye 10 as it has absolutely nothing to do with eyes at all but rather on the ten different ways to the dead as listed in the aforementioned book. The movie is comical when it’s supposed to be scary and just plain dumb all around. Keep your eyes closed for this one.
