Official Synopsis: Van Ray and Deaq Hayes are cops, but they don't carry badges. They're more likely to carry a case full of Benjamins. Everything they need to fight high-end criminals, they get from the Candy Store - the armory of toys and bling confiscated from busted crimelords and used to help the cops pass as legit criminals. From creators McG (the Charlie's Angels movies) and John McNamara (TV's The Fugitive) comes the undercover overdrive of Fastlane. Tiffani Thiessen plays the hip Candy Store overseer. Peter Facinelli and Bill Bellamy are Van and Deaq, who may have different 'tudes about movies, tunes and hotties but who agree that what's good is taking down the bad. Buckle up for their fast, 6-disc, 22-episode ride.

Our Take: Fastlane isn’t just an exciting, action-packed television show that was cut down before its time; it’s also, quite simply, extremely cool. Filled with hot chicks, fast cars, sizzling music, and crisp dialogue, the show managed to be one of those rare non-MTV shows that didn’t just try to be cool; it defined cool. There isn’t an episode that goes by in Fastlane: The Complete Series that doesn’t ooze cool in almost every scene. In Peter Facinelli and Bill Bellamy, the show’s creators managed to find two stars that had capable acting chops yet were still believable as being on the cutting edge of life. Throw in the ridiculously hot Tiffani Thiessen as their surprisingly-believable boss, and Fastlane is a really fun ride.
That’s probably why the show got canceled after just one season; because tit was really good. Fastlane had the potential to be the next Miami Vice: not only a popular TV show, but also a strong influence on popular culture. I could easily have seen Fastlane becoming the next show where popular music, trends, and fashions got their start. Instead, it was axed even while gaining fans left and right. I know the ratings weren’t at blockbuster level, but I really think this show could have been cultivated into a long-running hit. I guess we’ll never know now. However, I wouldn’t be surprised to see the show do extremely well on DVD. The new Fastlane: The Complete Series collection features all 22 episodes of the show and a nice collection of extra features.
* Hot Stuff: Inside the Candy Store
* Deleted Scenes * Stunning Rides * Smoking Stars * Sizzling Action * Outtakes and Bloopers
I know that there are a lot of people who have been waiting for this show to come to DVD, and those fans will be very pleased with Fastlane: The Complete Series. The pilot episode was directed by McG, who also produced the series, and that’s a pretty good indicator of the show. If you like McG’s big screen outings and his hyper-kinetic action style, you’ll probably love this series. Heck, if you just want to know what cool feels like, then get in the Fastlane.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
