Our Take:
Most of the hype that surrounded It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia came about because the pilot episode was filmed by a couple of struggling actors for somewhere between $85 and $200. It’s impressive enough that the guys managed to film something that cheap, let alone have it picked up by a major cable network (FX) and just now be renewed for a fourth season.

The reason it was picked up and then also renewed for more episodes is because the show is funny. Awesomely funny, as Season Three will attest to. The characters are just that, characters. They’re absurd creations of personality flaws that somehow manage to exist on a day-to-day basis while always falling into some sort of scheme.

If I had to equate It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia to anything it would be South Park, in that they both manage to stay on top of and goof on the state of current events in ways that most of us would be scolded at for doing by teachers, parents, or some other such authority figure.

Special features include:

* Commentary with Rob McElhenny, Charlie Day and Glen Howerton – On episodes 6 and 11.

* Sunny Side Up Volume 2 (7 minutes) – A semi-faux making-of featurette.

* Meet The McPoyles (6 minutes) – Meet everyone’s favorite uni-browed family.

* Dancing Guy (6 minutes) – Creepy half-naked guy dances.

* Gag Reel (6 minutes).

All of the crazy events in It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia: Season Three stem out of a bar that the five main characters own/operate. This sordid meeting place is, of course, a perfect host for things to come as well as a strong symbol of the show itself that lets us know that this isn’t Friends, and we don’t drink coffee. Now crack open a brew and pop in this hilarious DVD set.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
