Forever Knight: The Trilogy - Part Three
Official Synopsis:
Vampire police detective Nick Knight (Geraint Wyn Davies, TV's "24") is back for the third and final season of the thrilling horror series, Forever Knight. Tortured by his immortality, Nick's hunger to recover his humanity is more powerful than his lust for blood. But will Nick ever get to see the light of day? Tracey Vetter (Lisa Ryder) joins the cast as Nick's new partner at the police department, and Davies' real-life son Galen plays Patrick the orphan in "The Human Factor." The third season highlights include Nick's possible connection to the mysterious murder of "Blackwing," the race to discover a cure for a deadly virus in "Fever," and Nick's enlisting of a confined madman to solve a brutal slaying in "Trophy Girl." On DVD for the first time, the third season of Forever Knight completes the series and gives diehard fans the ultimate collection of this cult favorite!

Our Take:
I saw a full page advertisement in an issue of the Sci Fi Channel magazine a while back imploring Sony to release the third and final installment in the Forever Knight "trilogy." Even though the show's been off the air for 10 years, it clearly still has a fiercely loyal fan base. Sony has responded in kind by releasing the final chapter in the Nick Knight saga, which should bring a big smile to those fans’ faces.

I was never a huge Forever Knight aficionado, but I enjoyed the show on occasion. Basically, I think it was a great concept for a show that was hampered by budget limitations, but I can see the appeal. A vampire cop is a neat basis for a TV show, and while the show could often border on cheesy, it also obviously did something right to create such a devoted fan base. This collection of episodes is made up mostly of self-contained cop investigation episodes, but there are some overarching story elements as well, which seems to be a must for any true cult classic television show. Most of these elements focus on the various characters and their relationships, so the show's focus on the personal side of things continues until the end.

This DVD collection doesn't have much in the way of extra features, just three music videos that are mostly clips from the show set to musical numbers. Still, fans should be happy to finally have the entire saga on disc.
