Edward A. Eames, 82, of Hillsdale, passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at Drew's Place, Village Green in Hillsdale. He was born February 23, 1927 in Detroit to Walter & Edna (Husson) Eames. He was married March 9, 1956 to Sally Gibson and she preceded him in death September 12, 2009.

Ed attended Albion College and received his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Michigan. He was retired from Hillsdale Tool. He was a member and former Elder of the First Presbyterian Church of Hillsdale, a former member of the Board of Education of the Hillsdale Community Schools, a former member of the Board of Key Opportunities, and a former chairperson of the Hillsdale County United Way.

Ed is survived by two daughters, Diane Eames of Hillsdale and Christine (Erik) Olson of Rochester Hills; a son, Douglas (Judy) Eames of Auburn, Indiana; nine grandchildren; and a brother, Walter "Ross" (Stella) Eames of Sun City Center, Florida.

Besides his wife Sally, he was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Rex Eames.

Funeral services for Ed Eames will be Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Hillsdale with Rev. Patti Beckman officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Hillsdale. The family will receive friends for visitation Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale.
