Rose M. Rowe, 74, of Hillsdale, passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2009, at her home. She was born September 25, 1935 in Defiance, Ohio, to John and Dorothy (Degler) Zinser. She was married March 11, 1972 to John Rowe, he preceded her in death in 2003.
Rose was affiliated with Riggs Beauty Studio for over forty years. She was a graduate of Ayersville High School in Ohio and Riggs Beauty School. She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Star Group at St. Paul's and the St. Paul's Guild. She was a member of the Wednesday morning quilting group at the College Baptist Church. Rose enjoyed spending time with her family and she was an avid gardener.
Survivors include two sisters, Esther (Randall) Wigent of Reading and Eileen (Philip) Rohlf of Defiance; a brother, Walter (Ann) Zinser of Reading; step-son Tom (Pat) Rowe of New York; step-grandson, John Rowe; nieces and nephews, John and Maria Zinser, Cindy (Jeff) Miller, Connie (Tom) Condon, Randy (Lori) Wigent, Chris (John) McLemore, Steve (Diane) Rohlf, Jeff (Tami) Rohlf, Dan Rohlf, Heidi (Tim) Keller; aunt Donna Leonhardt of Napoleon; and several Zinser relatives in Germany.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers in infancy, John & Roland and a niece, Tina Mast.
Funeral services for Rose Rowe will be Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009 at 2:00 p.m., at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hillsdale with Pastor Dan Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Hillsdale. The family will receive friends for visitation Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale.
