CADENZA magazine is the official journal of MMEA.

The Montana Music Educators Association is a state unit of the
Music Education National Conference, a voluntary, non profit organization representing all phases of music education in schools, colleges, universities, and teacher-education institutions. Active MMEA/MENC membership is open to all persons engaged in music teaching or other music education work.

CADENZA PUBLISHING GUIDELINES

Cadenza welcomes articles that inform, instruct or inspire its readers. Articles nine to twelve hundred words in length are encouraged. Longer articles will be considered based on available space. All articles are subject to editing.

The Editor and/or Cadenza Advisory Board reserve the right to accept or refuse articles for publication based on available space and potential interest or value to the readers.

If space is limited, preference will be given to articles authored by MMEA members.

Cadenza provides a valuable resource for MMEA members, but writers considering article submission must be aware that Cadenza is NOT a peer-reviewed journal.

Published articles become the property of Cadenza with all rights reserved.

No remuneration will be paid for published articles.

The Editor and/or Cadenza Advisory Board reserve the right to accept or refuse any advertisement.

Mission Statement for Cadenza

As presented and approved by the Executive Board of the Montana Music Education Association, January 5, 2001 (Bozeman, Montana)

Vision: Cadenza is the Association’s most visible means of communication.

Mission Statement: Cadenza, as published, will communicate items of importance, interest and concern to music education professionals in the state of Montana.

Beliefs:
1. Cadenza will serve to record current practices, events and activities by MMEA members.

2. Cadenza becomes part of the historical record of music education in our state.

3. Information in Cadenza will serve to prompt dialogue and stimulate growth in the musical education profession.

4. Cadenza will strive to be an “umbrella” for the diverse and changing agendas of the association, its affiliates and its members.
