Our obligation to you: We are committed to capturing the essence of your loved one, by commemorating their life through a Funeral or Memorial Service that is as special as they were, and your memories of them continue to be.
Traditional
The benefits of a funeral are for those left behind, who must reconstruct their lives following their loss. Before family and friends can fully adjust to their loss, survivors must express their grief in ways meaningful to them.

Traditional funeral services can be held in a funeral home, church, or other location chosen by the deceased or by the family.

It is common to tailor a funeral service to the personality of the deceased. Favorite music, treasured belongings, pictures, and mementos can all play a major role in making the final tribute fitting and moving.

It is common for the clergy to lead the funeral service, graveside service and offer support to family and friends. It is also appropriate to have a few friends or family members share thoughts with those attending the service.

Earth burial and above-ground entombment are final disposition options for traditional services. For an earth burial, a burial plot in a cemetery must be purchased or many times a family plot exists where husbands, wives, children, brothers, and sisters can all be laid to rest.

Cremation
Cremation is a very personal choice.

Whether you choose earth burial, entombment or cremation, it is wise to consider the emotional needs of your survivors.

Cremation is a process used to prepare the human body for final disposition.

Like earth burial or entombment, the expenses of a cremation can vary greatly depending on your choice of services, final disposition, cremation container and urn selection.

Cremation is not intended to replace the elements of the traditional funeral which may include any or all of the following: a service or ceremony at a church, funeral home chapel, lodge or other location; a visitation, viewing or wake and/or a graveside service. It is simply an alternative to earth burial or entombment of the body of the deceased.

There are many options with cremation: cremation with a public or private viewing only, cremation with a viewing and /or ceremonies, cremation with memorial service and no viewing, cremation with full ceremonies, or cremation with no ceremonies.

Ceremonies and viewings are intended to help survivors by providing an opportunity to acknowledge the loss and by offering a sense of closure. They provide a time for loved ones to release their feelings and share their grief, so the healing process may begin.

“What Should be Done with the Cremated Remains”?

Some people prefer to keep the cremated remains in their personal possession. Others feel that it is more appropriate to put the cremated remains in a formal or permanent location. It is common to bury the urn. This allows families to remain together in a burial plot regardless of each family member’s choice of preparation for final disposition. The burial site offers a permanent place for loved ones to visit and reflect on the life of the deceased. Burial can also be in an urn garden, private crypt, or a columbarium. You may also choose scattering of the cremated remains.

Cremation is entirely a personal choice and one that should be carefully considered. Think of future generations before you make your decision because once it is done, it is irreversible.
