Layout Manager

I have two things to say about Layout Manager. "Wow, this is cool" and "Holy cow this is hard to figure out!"

Layout Manager is so powerful and can allow you to create a really fancy web site, but it can be very difficult to learn and master. That is the reason it is listed as an advanced feature. It is very helpful and suggested that you don’t use this feature unless you have some programming knowledge.

The layout manager has been designed to give you great flexibility for designing a page to look the way you want.

The Layout Manager is a block, which allows other blocks to be arranged in rows or columns within the EZ-PageBuilder™ environment. This means that any blocks you choose can now be placed side by side wherever you want on the page! The Layout Manager also includes advanced features, which allow for borders and backgrounds around blocks.

When a Layout block is added, you will notice in the drop down menu of blocks that there are two entries added, the Start Layout entry and the End Layout entry. Any block added between these two entries will have a layout of what you have chosen in the Layout Manager - either rows or columns. All types of blocks can be added into this layout including both sidebar blocks and other Layout Managers.

When adding a block inside a layout that has the sidebar option selected, do not expect it to move over to the sidebar. This is to allow you to use these blocks with their sidebar vertical format inside the layout itself. A sidebar used within a layout takes on the spacing of that layout. If you wish to have a regular sidebar make sure the block is added outside of all Layout Managers. We would suggest putting all regular sidebar blocks at the very first. This allows you to move around all the blocks on your page without the sidebar getting in the way.
