Earlier this spring a new feature was added to EZ-NetTools® that is unlike any other tool.The EZ-Affiliate tool is the first tool to be able to dynamically pass data back and forth between two accounts. Using this tool, multiple accounts can be networked together into a family of websites that share a common interest. Over the years EZ-NetTools® has received requests for just such a feature from manufacturers and multilevel marketing companies. Now it is here!
Overview
There are two parts to the EZ-Affiliate tools. First, from the "Promotion Tools" menu there is an option for setting up the affiliates. It is here that you can maintain your list of affiliates. This includes information like the affiliate name, address, phone numbers, and URL's to pages on the affiliate's web site. There are also optional links for importing and exporting the affiliate information. You can also establish a default affiliate.
The second part of the affiliate tool is in EZ-PageBuilder. There are four new page builder blocks that are associated with the affiliate program. The display block allows you to display selected information about the affiliate when someone is referred to that page from the affiliate's web page. This would include information such as the affiliate name and phone number. A page with this block will display dynamic information based on the affiliate site who did the referring. This concept has been very confusing for people to understand because when you save the page it looks the same. However, the page will display different information depending on how the person ARRIVED at the site. To repeat, you will not see the changes until you come to that page from another referring page. (There are two examples of an affiliated network of sites, each set consisting of three accounts, in the help text that explains the affiliate tool.)

The next two EZ-PageBuilder blocks help you create the links from an affiliate web page. It is this block that passes the information that allows the customized data to display on the target site. The link back block provides for a path back to the affiliate. The last block provides a way for the affiliate to update their information such as a name, address, etc. That way you would not have to maintain all the information yourself if you do not want to.
Possible Uses for the Affiliate Tool
Suppose you were a manufacturer who had many distributors. An example would be a power tools manufacturer. You have a central web site that describes all the features of your products. You would have all the features and pictures to promote the tools. Instead of requiring the affiliates to duplicate this information they can refer customers to the central site through use of an affiliate link. When the customers arrive at the target site, they will see the affiliates name and address or what information you chose to display. When the customer gets ready to order, the link takes them back to the affiliate site. Incidentally, the affiliate site does not need to be an EZ-NetTools® site.
Another use for an affiliate site would be for a multilevel marketing company. These companies consist of a network of people who each may have their own web sites.The personal information is on the member web sites. However, the bulk of the product information will be on the central site. Through use of the affiliate tool and links the net work of web sites could almost be made to function like a single site. Each page could be branded for the member even when their customers have been transferred to the single central site.

Detailed instructions are provided in the Help instructions. As mentioned above there are two simple examples of how a network of affiliate sites could function. Take some time to peruse this information. Experiment. The concept is fairly simple but the implementation takes a little while to understand. Currently, the affiliate information is not integrated with the ordering system. We have made provisions to do so. If enough interest is expressed we will provide a way to capture who the referring affiliate is when an order is placed.
